My Russian DH is an amazing father. I think Russian DWs often enable DHs to be not so great fathers. My DH takes DCs to the playground on Sunday morning to let me sleep in. Once, he met a Russian woman there who was just appalled to learn that the "mother of these children" was relaxing at home and proudly announced that her DH never takes kids to the playground.

I never said ALL Russian men were terrible fathers; my brother is a great dad (while his wife uses every chance to get a break from kids- she works FT so it's not like she is with the kids 24/7).
As of enabling- I don't know. Maybe Russian women don't fight for their rights the way they should- but I promise you the Sunday morning playground thing wouldn't fly with a typical Russian dad- who wouldn't marry a typical American woman to begin with.
I generally find it offensive - this "sama vinovata"- this s your fault- attitude in women to other women. I think you are just lucky to have a highly non typical Russian husband.

Most of my friends are marrying Eastern European or Russian women. And those American guys are pretty hot themselves. I only know one woman who is married to a Russian man and they seem very happy.

In case you are wondering, Russian guys have a pretty low opinion of american women as well. They consider american women fat, ugly, poorly dressed, bad cooks, and very high maintenance. So there.

I spent years in the former Soviet Union and while some of the men were attractive, I didn't find any physically attractive and good long-term romantic partners. It was a cultural thing - we had very different expectations of what women/wives/girlfriends should do. I supervised a number of them and had few problems. Those who had problems working for a woman either got over them or got fired. On the other hand, I found Turks to be far more attractive and made excellent romantic partners.

DH is Russian, does not smell, cute, and has a great sense of humor. I don't find Russian man particularly hot, but there is something very attractive about them.

That's because they keep themselves feminine looking and sexy. Go to Mari Vanna on a weekend night and compare it to a typical anglo-woman.

American women have qualities that are better than slavic women, but fat acceptance is way too much in the anglo world.

From what I've seen, Russians often have great genetics, but go to seed very fast after a certain age or life event, men and women alike.
