Which is exactly why PP said that...typical DCUM ignorant comment about PG |

Flower Valley
don't know how long the link will last - But here's one that's at the upper end - http://franklymls.com/MC8085006 very nice with a pool! |
+1 |
| I agree south arlington-penrose arlington heights ect. |
Terrible schools., but great if you are single |
It actually borders DC. It's a few minutes NE of the Rhode Island Ave metro. |
| I live in Lanham-Seabrook, in PG county. Several people who came to visit our house literally told us "Where are we? What is this place?" they were so amazed that we live in such a nice area. And our house was 320k, and, quite frankly, is gorgeous. And our elementary school is good too! |
What is Bfe? |
+1. We lived there for years and loved it. It fits OPs price range. |
It's Mason Crest ES, not Masonville. Masonville was the name of the old school in that area that was closed decades ago. |
Stands for "bum fuck Egypt" - basically, a DCUM derogatory term of choice for any place outside of DC, Arlington, or Bethesda/Chevy Chase. Although it's usually reserved for places further from DC than Mount Rainier, with better schools. |
This. Just bought a house that would easily go for $100k more in Takoma Park or Silver Spring. Great neighborhood and community, tons of kids, excellent neighborhood school that DCs will be walking to. Close to UMD and metro, we love it! |
Schools suck and its run down. The only foreclosure i see in the area are there. |
Umm, okay, PP here who has the 5,000 sf house in Mount Rainier. lol, I actually didn't know what bfe meant at first. Mount Rainier is basically NE DC - just north of Woodridge area. I'm less than a mile away from the new DC Costco. While my house is technically in PG Co., my front yard is actually DC, and I park my car in DC - on Eastern Avenue....so it is not 'BFE" at all. I love the area, and it's only improving. I've been here about 10 years. |
| Anything not in nw is bfe lol |
