Transgendered woman in the womens locker room

Man has penis , woman has vagina, maybe they need to update the universal bathroom sign to indicate wearing a dress is not the only requisite for a woman. Also the driver license office should change the license and change their queston to with or without penis.

I am a mom and I've spent the better part of 20 years working with children. They are matter of fact about body parts. Talking about genitals is not taboo to them. It's just like any other body part, hence the blurting.

I remember quite well, but it's a poor example. This was a typical girl on girl fight amongst Baltimore thugs. She was not beaten bc of the changes she made.

This is the parent of the trans teen. Hey DCUM - don't go hating on 8:17. For most of humanity's history, what he/she states was the accepted norm. Transgenderism is a really BIG thing to wrap one's head around...Not sure if I'd get it myself, but for having raised a trans kid.

For those of you expressing support - I can't tell you how much that means to me as a parent. But we should also be patient and loving to everyone. Angry words get us all nowhere.

If the transgender woman was post-op, no issue with it whatsoever. If pre-op, no issue as long as male genitalia was not revealed. If male genitalia were revealed, I would have an issue with it.

I think almost all the posters replying that they wouldn't have a problem with it know that's the nice, liberal and "I am open minded" thing to say and that they would really in fact very put off by it and not be comfortable. Spa World seems to know this also and that's why they issued the statement.

I am happy to be her close friend and call her she, as she is a female to me, etc., but if you still have your penis and it's going to show, I'm afraid you'll have to use the men's space. If she was dressed as a woman and wanted to use the woman's bathroom, with stalls, I have no problem with her peeing in the stall next to me.

Likewise, I assume men would be uncomfortable with a transgendered man showing his breasts or vagina in the men's naked areas.

Life has handed you a difficult hand if you are transgender. I'll do what I can to make you know you are welcome in my home and around my kids. You are a person just like any other but I'm not going to pretend you don't have a penis if I have to see it.

8:58, I want to add that I think going to Spa World was a poor decision on her part. It sucks that unless and until she has surgery she can't do a thing that all other woman can do, namely sit around naked in a sauna-type space, but she shouldn't have thought it would be okay with the other people there. I'm sure that if I were transgendered part of me would rage against the unfairness of biology giving me a mixed hand but I like to think I wouldn't behave without common sense and respect for the feelings of others.

But was the transgendered woman at Spa World actually naked? Are you required to be naked there? I re-read the article, and no where does it say anyone was offended because she had a penis. She was questioned because of her broad shoulders and muscle tone.

A few things -- of all the spas she choose Spa World? I can't help but think this was a set up. You are required to be naked for parts of spa world. Not just the locker room where you can quickly dress/undress but walking around in the pool area. Completely naked. This is why Spa World picked this person out. I would have no problem with a transgender in the locker room but wandering around pre-op on the female side? I would have a problem. That is why I think this was a set up. There are so many spas in there area and this person just happens to pick the one with the naked/single sex requirement? I call bullshit on that.

The article says she is from CA and was visiting this area. So maybe she didn't know. Or maybe it was a setup since she went out there.
