Transgendered woman in the womens locker room

Anonymous
Then why do we have gender specific change rooms at all. If a penis is just a penis and a vulva is just a vulva and no big deal at all and you don't look at genitalia anyways then you would be just as comfortable changing in a co-ed change room or in the men's change room. If you are perfectly fine being nude and having your kids being nude around everyone because it is just genitalia after all - then you are probably a nudist. Mot of us aren't.

We strongly enforce this policy for the safety and the comfort for our customers, and also to promote a healthy reputation for our business. Spa World accepts family-oriented customers many times with young children. Also, for the safety and the comfort for young children at Spa World, we strongly forbid any abnormal sexual behaviors and orientation in our facility. Despite the controversial issue of homosexuality and transgender, it is our policy to not accept them."

I've always thought Spa World was kind of gross the few times I've been there and this just confirms that they are disgusting in many ways. If they focused on not accepting people who clip their toenails in the changing room (saw it happen, saw the clippings get swept to the floor ugh), it would be a better use of their time.

Spa World is indeed gross, if this is their response.

I'm a 29 year woman with a Masters and that sentence makes no sense to me, let alone a 4 year old. From a purely biological standpoint if you have a penis you are a man. This isn't about feelings this is about your biological "parts" and imposing your "feelings" of what and WHO you think you are onto others. And if anyone objects it turns into an issue of being "Homophobic" and a "Civil Rights Issue" REALLY?!?!? If you are PRE-OP you are a man and I cant see feelings; I see you penis in a women's only nude area. If you want to be a woman fine, do what you need to do to make that happen but the sense of entitlement that others should make an exception for you because in your head YOU feel like a woman is ludicrous!
Also "Black people were born black and can't do anything about that. Transgender people were born in the wrong body. They can either suffer (which apparently you advocate) or "switch" to their true gender." I FIRMLY believe in live and let live and this is NOT a civil rights issue when it comes down to OBVIOUS GENDER differences not racial. Discriminating based on skin color or ethnicity in a women's or men's gender specified area is a Civil rights issue; a biological man not being welcomed into a women's nude area are rules of the establishment for the comfort of ALL who patronize the business. If you don't like it don't go but stop whining about you not being accept for what you "feel".

I bet the PP will at least teach her daughter that it's "unfazed." Ignorant in one area, ignorant in others.

We have gender-specific changing rooms so that women can change with women (which includes transwomen) and men can change with men (which includes transmen).

Oh, wait, sorry -- you're asking why do we have sex-specific changing rooms. The answer to that question is: we don't. I have never yet been in a changing room where there was somebody stationed outside to check what kind of equipment you have in your pants (or in your genes). The plain fact is that you -- yes, you -- have almost certainly used a public bathroom at the same time as a transgender person, and you didn't even know it.

We do have sex specific changerooms. They say male and female.

Where? I've seen Men/Women, Stallions/Fillies, Him/Her, Gentlemen/Ladies, Cucumbers/Apricots -- heaven only knows what. But I'm pretty sure I've never seen Male/Female. I hope that you go get your chromosomes checked before you use those rooms. You never know.

But yet you commented. My Master is in Sociology from NYU since you were curious. I offered my opinion based on my research on Spa World and the conversation of males in the women's nude area. Further more this casual environment so a proper essay wasn't my intent. I see that I'm talking with a scholar from Troll U.

Because you seem to be unfamiliar with sociological concepts of the social construction of gender. Now, you don't have to agree with it but it seems odd that you would have a masters and not be familiar with it.

And?

I was just pointing out that this thread is a year old, duly debated for 12 pages, about an incident that took place a year ago. That's all.
