OP - NP here. As you can tell, there are locals who are *extremely* sensitive about who went to what school. If you're not from here, it really doesn't matter much. Pimmit Hills is seen as kind of rough, FWIW. Apparently Potomac Hills (very different, at least to locals) used to be Langley HS way back when, but was changed to McLean HS. I am very sure that was a point of contention. Honestly, I don't know how redistricting happens, but it seems to happen in Fairfax often enough. (Happened in Oakton not that long ago).

Anyway, Potomac Hills is nice and safe with sidewalks, a mixed neighborhood of many demographics. One of our old neighbors moved there FROM Pimmit Hills and was noticeably impressed (we don't live in Potomac Hills anymore).

Another point - Potomac Hills has ALL sizes of house - from 3 to 6 (!) BR, so price points vary. It is NOT cheap and probably starts at around $800 these days. If you like the house and lot, why not? What did you decide?

We have good friends who live on that street not far from that house. They have been very happy there in the 9ish years that they've lived there. I know that there are at least a few elementary school age kids on the street.

Also, to reply to the poster who wondered about how Langley/McLean got redistricted - I was in elementary school (slated to go to Langley) at the time - basically they turned 123 into the dividing line, regardless of proximity to school. So many homes, mine included, that had been slated for Langley and were, in fact, closer to Langley than McLean, got moved into the McLean district. I can't remember when exactly it was, but I'm 39 so it must've been 30ish years ago.

I'm not "troubled" at all, but thanks for your concern. If you're so troubled by our exchanges, then why are you "engaging" me? It's a message board. People talk. Besides, there are lots of other people who have responded to her lies and bullshit both in this thread and many other threads on here. And by the way, I don't even live in McLean, so I'm not trying to prove any "McLean superiority" or anything else. I just respond to lies and bullshit when I see it. To your last point, yes, many people on here promote their neighborhoods and schools, but there is a big difference between that and resorting to outright lies and putting down other people's neighborhoods and schools.
