What do you think about this house in Mclean?

+1. This is either Crazy Marshall Lady from some of the previous threads or some other random Pimmit Hills/Marshall booster who keeps on making the ridiculous claim that Marshall is "on par" with the McLean school pyramids. I guess she hasn't been able to sell her house in Pimmit Hills yet.

I live in McLean and the homes in pimmit hills are selling very quickly. It's all about proximity to the desirable aeras and Pimmit Hills is the last pocket of the lower cost homes that feeds into excellent schools.

I also read somewhere that McLean and Langley were rated below Marshall this past year.

You live in McLean...riiiiight. Your boosting of Pimmit Hills says otherwise. And no, McLean and Langley are not rated "below" Marshall at all. This has already been argued over and over in the other threads where Crazy Marshall Lady tried to boost Marshall without justification. Again, why do people like Crazy Marshall Lady have to hijack threads that have nothing to do with Pimmit Hills? This thread was about a house in McLean, not Pimmit Hills. Newsflash: people who are interested in the McLean school pyramids and in living in McLean do not want to live in a place that looks like a trailer park, which is how most of Pimmit Hills looks.

I am sorry, first off I don't know what you are talking about above boosting one neighborhood over the other, I could care less. I was chatting with a friend the other day and she mentioned the ratings of the area schools. We had a choice to buy in either Marshall or McLean, but about 7-8 years a go McLean was the no brainier. I recenetly drove through pimmit hills and there is a lot of new construction going on even though they are next to the original ugly homes.

Again I live in Mclean, You seem very judgmental to proclaim a neighborhood looks like trailer park. I think you need to get off your high horse or else someone will need to kick you in the baby maker at least 10 times because you are a bitch. You give McLean a bad name I hope you get hit by a car on 123.

That last comment just shows how klassy you are. You are obviously Crazy Marshall Lady again, because this is your typical MO. Anytime there is a thread about McLean, and which has nothing to do with Marshall or Pimmit Hills, you hijack it, start claiming that McLean is "overrated" and that the OP should look in Pimmit Hills instead, and claim that Marshall is so much better than the McLean school pyramids, despite all of the evidence to the contrary. It's also your MO to try to make multiple posts pretending like you are different people or that you actually live in McLean, as you have already done this and been caught on it in several other threads. I'm surprised that some of the other Pimmit Hills/Marshall people who view this site haven't already told you to STFU, because you are making it look like all of the Pimmit Hills and Marshall people are insane. I know from previous threads that some of them are reasonable and realistic and don't have the delusions of grandeur that you seem to have about Marshall and Pimmit Hills.

This is what people do when they've lost the argument and can't argue facts anymore. They resort to name calling and making up sh*t. No one said anything about race here. No one said that everyone outside of McLean is "trailer park people" or said anything about people being "below you". No one. And then there is the other post by this same person (Crazy Marshall Lady) where she states out loud that she hopes someone gets hit by a car. If you want to live near people like this, then follow her advice and move to Pimmit Hills and send your kids to Marshall. If not everyone from Pimmit Hills and the Marshall district is like this, then it's about time that some of them speak up and tell Crazy Marshall Lady to get back on her meds.

Mclean full of class and ass, trailer homes for the rest of us peasants .

Again, I would come back to the OP and say this is a nice house in a great area that a number of us think may be somewhat over-priced. The consensus seemed to be that you might want to offer somewhere around $890 or $900K and see where it goes.

If you decide it's too expensive, and you want to look elsewhere outside of McLean, Kettler Brothers built similar developments in Falls Hill (Marshall HS district) and Barcroft Woods (Stuart HS) district. Houses in those areas generally are less expensive - houses in Falls Hill have been selling for between $625-750K and houses in Barcroft Woods (a later Kettler Bros. development where the homes are larger) have been selling for between $620-870K. Neither of those areas will look anything remotely like a trailer park.

Sorry for having inadvertently launched the latest Marshall/McLean feud. As someone who's had kids at both schools, it makes me kind of sad.

It's not your fault. Crazy Marshall Lady hijacks every thread about McLean and tries to steer people towards Pimmit Hills and Marshall. Also, I agree with you that Falls Hill is nice (and no, I don't live there). It's a very pretty, woodsy area with a lot of nice houses. It's also pretty convenient in that it's close to the West Falls Church Metro, shopping and restaurants in Falls Church City, the W&OD Trail, Route 7, I-66, the Beltway, Tysons Corner, etc.

The OP asked about a house in McLean, not Pimmit Hills. Don't they teach reading comprehension in school anymore?

Ummm, actually, that "1 street" is the Dulles Toll Road, so it is a "big wup" [sic]. It's not like you just walk across the street from Pimmit Hills into McLean. Not to mention that they have very different schools, demographics, socio-economic levels, housing stock, neighborhood feel, commuting options, etc. Again, the OP asked about McLean, not Pimmit Hills. The fact that certain Pimmit Hills promoters don't have basic reading comprehension skills doesn't say much for the residents there. Hopefully, some of them are more educated and intelligent than the ones who have posted in this thread thus far.

New poster. I like the house except that I would extend the wood floor to the kitchen. Those tiles look very cheap. And I would do something to make the patio look a little more upscale too like building a short stone wall around it.

Good luck!

Actually, you can be on the same side of 267 as Pimmit Hills and technically still be in McLean (north of Magarity Road). So, yeah, you could literally be on Pimmit Drive in the Pimmit Hills part of Falls Church, cross Magarity, and be on LaSalle Avenue or Seneca Avenue in McLean. Some of that area feeds into Longfellow MS/McLean HS and some of it feeds into Kilmer MS/Marshall HS. All those kids go to Westgate ES.

It certainly doesn't give someone who lives in Pimmit Hills an excuse to hijack a thread where someone is asking about a house over in Potomac Hills (close to the McLean/Arlington border), but thought you might like to know.

Seems like this house is in move-in condition, which is a big plus in my books. It looks spacious inside, but doesn't really look like a beautiful house for a million dollars. it all depends, since you are pretty much paying for the location. I think it's a bit overpriced for that particular area, but I haven't monitored the prices in that area for almost a year. Last year we saw properties there for under 800K and there was a good amount of them. maybe prices just went up.

Only one river separates DC and Virginia! They are practically the same place!

LOL at "wup".
