What do you think of the chevy chase club?

Annual dues of $80K?? Now you really are being ridiculous. Not even close...and it was never that in the past.

So how much does it really cost??? Why would it be confidential?

Actually if you read carefully I did not say it was 80k in the 70's and 80's, I was just factoring in inflation, etc. from what it WAS in the 80's the initiation fee WAS 30K... my dad paid it. Beyond that--well, I was a teenager with no concept of money and did not pay much attention to those detiails. If you really think you know what the exact current fees are then say so and stop being such an insufferable asshole about it.

PP, the initiation fee is like 100-150k with an annual fee of @80k. Asking this question is like asking: What is the gas milage on a 500 series Mercedes...Lol. No one is joining the Chevy Chase club just so they can have an uncrowded pool. Build your own pool, FFS.

So I'm curious why you think people do join if not for things like this. Serious question. Is it for the social networking? BTW, I do have my own pool.

Sample dues from a sample club - $505 per month, meaning $6060 a year, a far cry from the eighty thousand bucks in "annual fees" you are so convinced your rich daddy paid thirty years ago.

People get a grip. Bethesda Magazine published the fees of all the clubs a few years ago. Look it up.

Not Congressional. Sample club? What are you even talking about?

"The current initiation fee for the club is $950,000. The waiting list is approximately eight years, including a 2–3 year wait once admitted to the club for the use of golf facilities."

From wikipedia admittedly. But still.

You're right! Not Congressional. A different club mentioned on this thread. I'm looking at our bill.

Fantastic mint juleps. Don't drink more than 1.5, I have a vague memory of the evening after that.

The monthly dues are about 600. The stereotyping of CCC members seems pretty mean spirited to me. There are lots of nice people who are members. Stereotyping any large groups of people is wrong.

Except Walloons. They're all lazy and unable to do an honest day of work.

Now this is uncalled for. How many French-only speaking Belgians do you know?

You are just talking about your club's monthly dues though. A lot of clubs have annual fees (that can hit the tens of thousands) in addition to monthly dues. My parent's club (not in this area) has this. It's a pretty hefty annual fee on top of the monthly dues.
