Yukon Denali vs Yukon Denali XL

Even if you get great financing, that will be about $1K per month. For your car payment. Probably another $400 or so per month for gas.

Don't you want to retire? You realize people have mortages less than that, right?

Thank you for the financial advice. We can afford it. We would pay cash for it.

You must be new money. No one I know who actually has real money would be caught dead in that garishly tacky of a vehicle.

CO2 another way the Chinese are eating our lunch. OP get that SUV maybe we can catch up!

You are right that china and india are a major problems and that the their growth is unprecedented. But US is 2 in global emissions and per capita we are way ahead. Don't you think if we stemmed our rapacious consumption of chinese goods we might slow things down.

I agree. Climate change is here and we will have to adjust to the reality. I don't think that means we through up our hands and trash the planet.

no, we cannot slow things down. The rate of increase by China, India (Brazil, etc.) is so much greater than our possible slowing.

Okay take American culpability for co2 out of the equation (which I think is bogus). How about dependence on foreign oil as a national security issue. How many wars in the middle east are we in? I've lost count! We could increase domestic drilling... HELLO OIL SPILL, goodbye lovely beach vacay. Isn't that why she's buying the honking SUV?

I think there are lots of compelling reasons to consume less gas. OP- because of your wealth and urban style you will be emulated, some of the hottest mamas I know drive minis!

Thank you for mentioning this. It's really shocking to me how infrequently the political trouble our dependence on foreign oil causes comes up.

Unless her head is buried even deeper in Palisades clay than I thought, Scarlett the proudly uncrunchy Southern lady should be capable of appreciating this.

I don't think she really has money, so no risk of people "looking up" to her or trying to emulate her. Nothing says trailer trash like a giant Yukon Denali.

There was an article in my hometown newspaper last week - a woman was busted for defrauding welfare because apparently she had been on welfare for years and came into a sum of money due to an inheritance. First thing she did was go out of the trailer park and buy matching Yukon Delnalis for herself and her boyfriend. In cash. That pretty much blew her inheritance.

I think the Denali is very, very nice. Personally, I prefer the Tahoe since the Denali (and the Escalade) are too blinged-out.

I came in here to see what all the fuss was about. I knew people would give OP sh*t for this posting.

I love the nanny state liberal. They'll tell you where to live, what to drive and what to say; all because the know what's best for you.

This is the best defense you can come up with? Please let us know why it so important that people have the god given right to continue this kind of disgusting consumption given the pollution and wars that result from it. I want real reasons, not that "its my money and I'll spend it like I want to" whining.

What about the children?

What do you mean? Plenty room for them. Oh, well, we all inherit the problems of our forefathers...

Anonymous wrote:ugh. STFU about the climate change nonsense. Do you realize that China (and India soon behind) emit more CO2 than the USA now, at numbers growing at huge percentages every year. And that China and India are not part of the discussion as to any solution. So there IS NO CHANCE to stop the growth of global CO2. Not going to happen. Nothing we can do will stop the huge rate of increases.

So to the extent climate change is real, and to the extent it causes problems, all we can do is engineer around it and plan better.

get the kind of car you want, that works best for your family.

right

b/c who the hell cares about future generations?

When you look in the mirror, do you see the souless twat you've become. Just wondering...

Hey if you want to cut back on your consumption based on flimsy theories go right ahead. I just want a vehicle that will fit my family and belongings when we go on trips. Your huffing and puffing won't stop me or many our families from getting a large suv. This is like al gore and Nancy Pelosi bitching about emissions while they fly cross country in private jets.

It's ok for me but never ok for the next guy. And it's ok for poor people to send their children to fight wars over oil so I can live it up. Got it.
