I think we need a hybrid solution. If you're living in Upper Caucasia or pretty much all of Ward 3 you should be barred from running for citywide office. You're basically living in the suburbs and really have no clue or concept of what the city really is all about or needs. You've effectively decided to isolate yourself from the real city. Other than that, yea, you should be allowed to run.
What if you are a DC native living in W3. And you’re Black.
Not a race thing.
So no Black native Washingtonians living in Ward 3 get to run? Because they have no real concept of what the DC is all about? According to you And you are from where? And living where?
I don't care if you're black, white, or green or whether you've lived here a week or 100 years. If you're living in Upper Caucasia it's because you've chosen to live in the bubble part of DC that's always been separate and you're not truly vested in the city. You might as well live in Arlington.
Great. Got it. Where are you from and where do you live?
They’re a biracial offspring of 2 college educated parents who moved to NoMa 5 years ago from Columbus. So much cred
You couldn't be more wrong. But, again, it's not the race that matters. We're EOTP, have been here plenty long, have three generations currently living here, have kids in the public schools (no, not "JKLM" or whatever silly elitist acronym you use) and some of us actually work for/in the city. We count. You don't.
So where are you from? How far north is your EOTP? How long have you lived there? Have you lived in any other ward?
U Street, Shaw, and CH.
