Williams is #14th in per capita placement, and Emory is #22nd, with is indistinguishable IMO

And Emory sends to Emory and unc, while willaims sends to Harvard, upenn, and yale.

Nothing wrong with Emory med and UNC med. Still top medical institutions.

Williams is small and academic, but you don't have the spider web of opportunities that will be available in Emory's universe.

And all of the above explains why Williams graduates get into better medical schools.

Lol

Very easy to do when theres only 13 graduates.

You appear to have confused Williams with Colgate.

Is there a New Ivy athletic conference now?

Williams has much more prestige, never would consider Emory a desirable place. But Williams is rural and cold.

Williams grad here with several Emory friends. Can’t compare the two. Two equally great schools but their cultures are very different. Go with the vibe. A lot of students who are at Emory didn’t apply to Williams and vice versa. That says a lot re: how different they are.

I don’t agree at all. Maybe if you’re knee deep in Boston, but everywhere else would know much more of Emory. It’s really only in the minds of DCUM that these niche lacs are uber prestigious.

Irrespective of perception, Williams ranks well when viewed objectively. This site, for example, placed it a rarefied 8th nationally when considered among colleges and universities together:

Maybe if you are in Atlanta but not in the rest of the world. Emory doesn't have more recognition than the top SLACs. Neither group has much recognition with the general public. That is fine and to be expected since since school knowledge for the vast majority of the public comes from watching sports. Both Emory and Williams are great schools; this thread is one of the most inane threads that I have read in a long time.

Internationally, only universities are well known. It’s insane to think any SLAC is known in the “rest of the world”. Not saying Emory is well known either, but you aren’t helping the discussion.

Wallet hub is where you get your definitive sources? You think Dartmouth is better than MIT? W&L is better than Amherst and Pomona. Be for real. You found a ranking where you could spread this bs.

Williams is ranked #108 by WSJ (Emory #100 to be transparent). I know folks disparage that ranking…but everyone has to admit it is more credible than Wallet Hub

same with Williams. People obsessed with prestige here way overate how much people are thinking ahi ur these schools. Williams is “okay.” Emory is “okay.” They aren’t Princeton and it’s fine.
