Is VDA the best club to get recruited from?

This year VDA has managed to recruit the bulk of those players. Some years it’s more spread out. But for those players it has little to do with the club they play for, even though parents think it does. Those same players could be at any number of other clubs and land the same D1’s. Because they are the best 40-50 soccer players in the area.

The bulk of the player movement happened when BP left TSJ. Added pieces since then, but when all the imported players age out, will the results remain? Possibly.

Top 25 club before BP.

The social media and marketing started when BP got there though. The talent has always been there.

We wish! That means the under 17 and under 19 teams would all be playing for free! Would love that.

Then why was she fired from all her adult coaching jobs?

Although she was undeniably a standout player, her coaching tenure at GMU was deeply problematic. Numerous athletes reported that her methods were excessively harsh and damaging to team morale. I have been told that the situation deteriorated to the point where players formally expressed their concerns to the athletic department, prompting administrative intervention.

Marymount before that? Keep researching...

BP could sell ice to an Eskimo. Low level players benefit drastically from being able to play with great players. BP takes full advantage of that. Don’t believe me? Feel free to research former FCV D1 players.

Come on now.. they are play Gainesbridge "pro" soccer now

Leaving Marymount to go to George Mason isn’t getting fired. It’s just taking a new job.

You people are sick though. all of this because your little Mia wasn’t selected for a travel soccer team.

Ask around about the circumstances surrounding her departure from GMU. Defending BP and his wife’s double‑dipping raises serious questions about conflicts of interest affecting families and the club.

Which were what?

Answering your topic question. No, they are not the best club to get recruited from. A lot depends on the player, family and mainly academics.

If your daughter is one of the undisputed top few players in her age group in the DMV, legit youth national team caliber (actual camps not the bogus talent ID fluff), then VDA is going to be a great place for her. She will be promoted heavily by the club and get national attention. But for everyone else it depends very much on the fit. VDA will give an uber competitive (cutthroat) environment that might be motivating but also might be detrimental to your daughter’s development. The actual soccer and physical development will need to come from the outside. VDA is mindset development and marketing potential. If your daughter has the talent then she doesn’t need VDA to get where she wants to go. Another ECNL or even some GA clubs will be fine especially if the coach/style is a good fit. VDA has two types of players: 1) true superstars and 2) wannabe superstars who think (and their parents think) they are better than they really are.
