Any good alumni network outcomes for UT, UF or UNC?

And while they've gotten orders of magnitude more selective since then, they're all still massive party schools. Check out Franklin St in Chapel Hill right after the Heels beat Duke in basketball. Those students in that moment aren't going to look like "top shelf scholar types" either. UF can hold its own against UT-Austin and UNC. They're all equally elite.

Exactly. We're talking about how those three schools are elite peers now, not what the college admissions landscape looked like in 1982!

Even now, no one perceives UF to be a peer of UNC or UT. It’s a tier below with UGA.

UGA didn’t even make it to a safety school in my kid’s list. We consider it two tiers below Rutgers and UDub.

Spouse had a 3yr stint Fl. Oldest child graduated from hs in Fl. UF has a great rep and network in Fl. & seemingly well-respected and solid in the SE. Has become a tough admit. I think people in the region generally view UF as getting closer to UNC and bit better then UGA.

Yes, we are jealous of the diploma mill which educates a large chunk of its undergrads via online class. The joke is on the non Florida residents who actually pay tuition for that.

In 2026, UF all the way. UF is harder get into then years ago. The students love the school, have a wonderful time, great academics, sports, weather and outcomes. My DD graduated from UF and recently got accepted into medical school (MD).
