FWIW all those schools are party schools if that is your thing. UF was known for many years for its ready supply of  illegal drugs  as well as the usual alcohol. You could step off the short bus into any of those schools in 1982. Even Ivies like Penn had a 50% acceptance rate then. And while they've gotten orders of magnitude more selective since then, they're all still massive party schools. Check out Franklin St in Chapel Hill right after the Heels beat Duke in basketball. Those students in that moment aren't going to look like "top shelf scholar types" either. UF can hold its own against UT-Austin and UNC. They're all equally elite.[/quote]

Even now, no one perceives UF to be a peer of UNC or UT.  It’s a tier below with UGA.[/quote]
