College and University Discussion
Thanks. |
2028 is when Don the con piggy is fully king if he lasts that long. If not him some other shit. Electitons are over for this country. People need to wake up that ship has sailed. MAGA stupids gave Republicans the country and there is no going back. Our courts will not hold and the Republican party is too treasonous. |
I don’t see what the problem is. |

Let me preface this by saying that there are many, many, many nice, "normal," well-socialized and assimilated Asian people out there. They are some of my closest friends. But stereotypes exist for a reason.
That being said, schools will continue to use essays, recs, activities, etc. to weed out the stereotypical "4.0/ 1600/ chess/ violin/ fencing/ highly curated summer schedule/ never watched TV or went to a game in their lives" Asian kids who people are so afraid of taking over the world. Some might argue that if the world was a "meritocracy" then schools would be full of them. I think people will increasingly start opting out of those schools because life is about more than that. YMMV. You may now attack. |
| And yet parents here will still blame black people on all of their children's failures in education and employment. |
No need to attack. You embarrass yourself with this drivel. |
It has become an obsession of white males and Charlie Kirk types for social media clicks. Even guys like JD Vance weigh in. Percentage of blacks at top schools are relatively low to begin with, and those accepted are academically qualified. |
I tried to be even-handed and diplomatic. You call me Charlie Kirk and JD Vance. This is what is wrong with America. I'm closer to you politically than the vast majority of America. I voted for Biden and hate Trump. As long as schools are publishing these numbers, they will get scrutinized like in threads like this so will feel required to bolster their minority numbers. As a result, though many will be well qualified, there will be plenty who aren't. And that's not OK. As I said, I believe in diversity (though you have accused me of being racist and evil). If there is a true "tie" then I would choose the minority candidate. But that was no longer the case. And then once they get to the school the schools are spending a fortune to give them special treatment to feel comfortable and/or isolate themselves from the rest of campus (see Amherst). Let's focus policy efforts on improving K-12 education for minority students so there is a better funnel of well-prepared kids applying. We are making progress at that, but you can't force it. |
The problem is we need DEIA restored to stop the increasing percentage of Asian/Indian students gaining admission to the T50 universities. |
Please note that there are a lot of people who are posting in this thread so some of us who might seem to be directionally the same in our perspective really aren't. |
+1 Agree. |
Your writing style is interesting. LAC educated ? |
| these lac threads are getting tiresome. they need a separate forum so the 3 people who care about these unknown schools can discuss further |
+1 Pretty sad. |
Not true. Now do the mediorce lax bros and legacy kids. Nothing to say, right? Address systematic inequalities instead of running your mouth as a MAGA in white liberal concern troll clothing. |
