Don't you think they'll get close to 90K? They were at 70,300 as of mid Dec which generally does not include any of the RD applicants who generally submit somewhere from the time of their ED rejection in mid Dec to the RD due date on Jan 5.

17K applied RD last year and I would imagine with no supplementals this could easily go up to 25K. I bet they reach 90K overall.

They had 64K total last year. I can’t imagine they’ve already surpassed that.

Yes, they were at 70,133 by early Dec.

I think they likely got to 90K by Jan 5.

UVA didn’t suddenly get more popular for reasons like “not too northern, not too southern” and status as the #4 ranked public ivy.

Their increase in applications is directly correlated with no supplemental essays this year.

This. Really unfortunate for VA kids this year. It will be a record-breaking number of applications. Kids only have to pay the fee and hit submit in common app with no extra essays.

Our NOVA private got only 1. We were stunned at the deferrals. All great candidates, all in state.

The Ivy League is a sports conference.

I am not the previous poster, but my kid (who applied EA) goes to Westfield and they have at least ten confirmed seniors accepted to UVA so far. Eight on their Instagram (all boys), plus two girls I know personally who didn't post. I do not know their stats.
