What major/school and SAT score? If at least mid 1400s and applied ED, they have a chance. Also, are they taking highest rigor in all five subjects?

Also, if in a small pond high school lacking rigor, your student cab take summer or after-school courses at your community college, which serves not only to prove your kid can do the more rigorous work but that they can also perform well in a college environment.

He should be in. ( if rigor is high)
Both weighted gpa and SAT scores
are what they are looking for.

We were talking about FCPS high schools and comparing those that are ranked at the top (Langley, etc.) vs. those at the bottom (West Potomac, etc.). Those at the bottom still offer all the rigor as any other FCPS school. Tons of APs or IB curriculum. The difference is that the cohort of top kids is going to be smaller at the lower ranked school because there is a large portion of the student body that isn’t even considering college .
