I feel like I’ve entered some alternate universe. For those of you with teen drivers, if you had to pick one would you rather (1)they honk once at someone going to well below the speed limit or (2) throw the emergency brake and stomp back to confront someone they feel honked wrongly at them? |
Yes keep this in mind before you ever use your horn!!! The person in front of you can and according to these people actually SHOULD get out and confront you about honking at him. Honking very aggressive behavior but exiting your vehicle to confront someone is fine. |

OP, when you go looking for trouble you're liable to find it. You were in the wrong.
Our world has lost its mind and I'm doing what I need to do to keep myself and others safe. In a world where someone doesn't think twice about recklessly entering an intersection at a high rate of speed, I carefully check intersections, I drive slowly where a child or a pet might dart out between parked cars, etc. Today's world is very crowded and rushed. This is a safety issue. |
Yay! You finally get it. Here’s your ⭐️. |
She lives in the neighborhood. She probably drives a BMW X5. |
No, she did not say he sped or zoomed off. She said " got back in his car and drove off." |
That’s what OP initially said but when things weren’t going her way on this thread she came back and said he sped off. |
| OP did nothing wrong. If you’re driving 10 under the speed limit, you’re the problem. If you need to drive that slowly to react to something, you shouldn’t be driving. |
| Suggested reading for everyone who thinks it’s absurd that a driver might decide to go slightly slower than the speed LIMIT for safety reasons: https://ggwash.org/view/37832/theres-a-critical-difference-between-20-mph-and-30-mph |
| No one is endorsing honking (though it’s not the crime of the century) but if you can’t see that a man stopping his car in the middle of the road and angrily approaching another driver is worse I don’t know what to tell you. |
| OP, you started it. If you don't want to encounter crazies, don't provoke them with your obnoxious honking. |
| OP is the only person in this story who broke the law. |
OP never said he angrily approached her. She aggressively overreacted to a slow driver on a residential. And now wants to be the victim of her own behavior. |
