OP here - he wasn’t elderly - he was like 50/55. I am honestly in shock that people are arguing that it’s ok for someone to get out of their car - for any reason. Flick me off fine. Start going 10 mph - very dickish but ok. But block me in and get out? Insanity.

What rule of the road says to honk at drivers not going the speed you want them to?

Are you guys ok? It literally doesn’t matter what she did to him, you cannot get out of your car and confront another driver. That is psychotic and also stupid - what if the other driver is more psychotic than you and shoots you or something???

OP, why didn't you post this on the Arlington Neighbors FaceBook page instead?

You would not think that was scary and psychotic??? Regardless of what you were doing??

Also he could see who was driving the car - a woman alone - had it been a more intimidating person I’m not sure this older guy would have felt ok getting out of his car to confront.

OP was the aggressor. Like your example. In OP’s story, the guy who asked why she honked is not the aggressor. Presumably OP also knows she’s a woman. If she’s going to be scared about men talking to her, then don’t act aggressively around them.

Don’t be an ahole and then cry about it.

You were behind him. He can’t block you in unless you were tailgating him.

Op he may have been the husband of a lady pedestrian who was killed on a road close by by a speeder. You made assumptions because of his car. You have no idea why he was going "too slow" on this small stretch of road. Its less than a mile long. What was your hurry?

This thread is surprise me bc I have seen threads where dcum posters act like someone going only 5 above the speed limit in the left lane are reckless monsters committing a crime against humanity.

It literally does matter.

Ok well OP might have been having some sort of medical emergency - he had no idea why she was trying to go the stated speed limit. Also the only assumption to be made about a man driving a Porsche Cayenne probably breaks the community posting guidelines on here.

That road is 30, then it's 25 then it's 20 during school dismissals, and then there's road works near Nellie Custis as well.

There are so many new signs and speed cameras around Arlington that it's hard to know the speed limit for particular blocks these days. I find myself going slower because you have to go slow on Quincy and Patrick Henry and Yorktown and Sycamore and George Mason etc, and you get into the habit of going slower. If I know a speed camera is nearby I just go slow.

It’s completely crazy behavior to get out of your car like that. Even if op was a rude hot head (and that’s not how it seems to me) it’s an absolute clown move.

Truth. It’s funny to me that people are defending the guy.

And she said he zoomed off so maybe the confrontation was what he needed to get over his imaginary wife’s imaginary hit and run death!

Then she would have pulled over and called 911.

It’s not crazy behavior. But since you seem to be as much of a clown as OP, keep your perspective in mind before you get behind the wheel and think to behave like OP.
