140 is overweight for me at 5’1. 130 is the upper limit of my bmi.

You were barely overweight. If you'd lost 8 pounds you'd have been in the normal range. You couldn't lose 8 pounds through your own efforts?

At 5'1", 140 or 145 (OP) is definitely overweight, though not obese.

That's only part of it. If you are pre-diabetic at that weight, then you have to change your diet and activity levels.

I think that you’re wrong. I think that it will turn out that semaglutide protects us from some pollutant or virus that’s terrible for all us and is the true cause both of obesity and inactivity.

Until society deals with the pollutant or the virus, we should probably all be on semaglutide. Maybe it will turn out to do as much for the health of thin people as for fat people.

Wegovy for me was $1000 a month. One coupon for $299 after my insurance stopped covering it.

Zepbound $500 a month.

You take the money you would be spending on food and use it for glp instead, because you won’t eat anymore.

Same. The only reason it works for me is I can't eat. Not just food noise.

Not eating is worth it. You already ate enough in your life to last several years with no food.

Agree. This should be sold over the counter for the same price as vitamins.

No, and why should I? You sound jealous.

I am 5'1" so I need to lose quite a bit more, but I have been stalled for about 4 months despite moving up to 10 mg. I never get sick from the medication, can still poop normally, etc. and can even eat greasy foods without issue (though I've only done that a few times in the past few months). Does the medication just not work past a certain point for people? I've really stepped up my exercise, go to orangetheory 3-4 times a week and peloton 2-3 days a week. I have a toddler who I'm constantly preparing food for. The food noise just hasn't really reduced by much since about three months in even after stepping up the medication. Any hints?

Your dose is too low. Talk with the doctor and get on a higher dose.

I have several friends on it. They swear they have no side effects, but they do. I've especially noticed the brain fog.

Maybe they tried and couldn't.

Maybe they didn't want to lose it without meds.

Why do you care how they lose it? Even if they cut off a limb to lose weight - not your business.

No, that’s just perimenopause. Even men can get that.

I’ve lost over 150 lbs and I haven’t even changed my diet. I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, because it makes me feel satisfied with a much smaller portion. It’s been a godsend.

I started Wegovy in February at 220. My primary care doctor is through One Medical and they just prescribed it when I asked for it. It took a few weeks to get the insurance pre approval figured out but it was literally just paperwork with some vitals and getting it to the right person.

Weight loss started slow, I stayed at 0.5 dose for a few weeks too many and am now at 1.7 and losing plenty. I’m down to 190 which is my pre-baby/pre-Covid weight. I’m not sure if I’m physically any healthier but my mental health is significantly improved and that alone is worth it.

I’ve had minimal side effects, and nothing regular. Random reflux and cramping but like once or twice a month. Sometimes I’ll have diarrhea day 3 after the injection but it’s not so bad that I can’t function or go to work.

Absolutely a miracle for me. The hours of my life I have spent counting calories, macros, food logging…it’s cut out all of the food noise and now I eat when I’m hungry and lose weight effortlessly.

That is insane!

I am 5’2” and was 137 Sept 1 and am down to 126 now. I did extended fasting. Being on Wegovy is not for me. My health and skin and energy have also improved.
