They did not take away any subsidies. The subsidies were passed during COVID as a temporary measure that is now expiring.

For the people whose health insurance premiums will double, that's cold comfort.

I don’t think it’s the democrats fault necessarily but I also do not think this is a fight worth fighting or that they can win. They screwed us over with Biden and need to focus on winning elections. I believe if they had run a primary we would not be in this situation. I think they should have agreed to the CR and let healthcare costs go up then blame republicans.

if the healthcare costs go up as much as they are supposed to , a LOT of Americans will die within a few months or years. ppl need cancer screenings, diabetes and heart medicine etc and the us doesn't have robust medical charities that can provide these things in time. like in developing countries- poor ppl can get charity and live, in developed countries ppl have access to basic medical care. the usa has neither system so ppl who have an accident :
chopping carrots say- they will just bleed out b/c the ambulance ride costs as much as a few months rent so they'll just wrap a towel around the wound and drive. ppl with chest pain, will wait until they have the widow maker and die, ppl who need epipens, will get stung by a bee and will die. modern medicine can only save lives if you use it.

I’m not steeped in the details, and I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but my inclination is to think that the Democrats may well be somewhat more to blame. That’s just because after the last round of negotiations, there was a widespread impression that they caved to Trump. It’s easy to imagine that they’d correct or overcorrect.
