I still have a scar on my finger from when I was a teenager, taking a shot at a deer, and the stock of my .30-06 was covered in ice and from the kick, the swivel sling attachment slid and bit into my glove and finger. There is a lot of power in a rifle bullet, even from something like that. It absolutely should have left a scar. That ear is pristine. It didn't heal, it was never injured in the first place.

Maybe, maybe there was a nick from something, but he was definitely not shot or hit by a bullet. His ear would have been partially torn off.
