Anyone else revolted by the socks with sandals trend?

I was so against this look but recently I had plantar fasciitis and I started wearing socks with Birkenstock style sandals and OMG it is so comfortable. I’m a convert.

Everyone grow up. Germans and other Europeans (and Romans!) have worn socks with sandals before you were born. It's more sanitary and provides a cushion to toes and joints. Deal with it. Or you sound like a rude American

I think they meant that not wearing socks is unhygienic. That's what my teen DD says, anyway. That your sandals get dirty/stinky much easier when you don't have socks on, and it's better to wear socks with sandals that can't be washed.

Actually, calf socks look bad on most people too while we're discussing. It makes everyone legs look bad as it cuts off at the fat part of the calf.

I think this is an Asian trend. I feel like Asians, particularly Chinese, have always worn socks with their sandals. I notice a lot of trends coming from Chinese influencers now.

Agree, looks terrible and those socks have got to be just filthy.

I live in Minnesota and a lot of older people have long worn socks with sandals, not in a trend-chasing way, so it’s funny to see something become hip that here has always been a clueless look.
