You can't go anywhere in public without seeing teens, college kids, and adults wearing socks and sandals. It looks so ridiculous to me and it honestly triggers me on a visceral level. I don't know if it's just gross or maybe because it looks so lazy and sloppy looking. It's not just those trashy slides and crocs, I see a lot of people wearing Birks with socks now, too.
yes -- agree!
Perhaps you should stay home.
This is such a weird post. Like what?
I actually love it. Feet are ugly, now they're covered up!
I just don't care. As long as I don't have to smell your feet, it's fine with me. Wear what you want.
Slobs just have no shame. Too few care about their appearance in public anymore.

I do feel triggered by it.
My son who's 7 and is weirdly very stylish keeps convincing me that it's the thing to wear his socks with crocs. They're calf socks with stripes at the top. It is SO ugly. Actually, calf socks look bad on most people too while we're discussing. It makes everyone legs look bad as it cuts off at the fat part of the calf. I think this is an Asian trend. I feel like Asians, particularly Chinese, have always worn socks with their sandals. I notice a lot of trends coming from Chinese influencers now. |
I wear my handknit socks with sandals so you can actually see them. I kinda love that this trend makes that a bit more acceptable.
I find it very weird and would lol if I saw an adult doing it. No clue why kids do it, but they do.

Birkenstocks are good support and in summer months are comfortable and ventilated.
Wearing socks means I don’t have to see random peoples toes. Seems like a win win. Flip flops, on an adult male not at the beach, gouge my eyes out. |
For some reason it doesn't bother me, or even give off sloppy vibes. Not my style, but I don't mind when other people do it.
As long as we don't need to see mens unsightly toes I'm all for it.
Socks and ‘stocks, baby. All day long.
Gross AND masculine?! Fetch the smelling salts! |
