I believe Big Balls and his friend were victims of an attempted carjacking by two unarmed teen girls. I believe this because I live in DC and have been harassed many times by unarmed teens in this city. It is very easy to imagine how this happened, as I've had groups of teens walk up to me and demand my phone or make fun of me or call me a b****. It happens, a lot of these kids are pathologically angry and aggressive.

However. There is info missing here. In my experience, these teens don't immediately jump you. Not saying they wouldn't, but it's not necessarily their first move. There are ways to diffuse these situations. There are also ways to escalate. That wouldn't make it okay, but it's a bit odd that two unarmed teenagers decided to beat this guy up, and that the beating lasted so long MPD was able to arrive and detain them. Who called the police, how long did the interaction go on, and what happened in between when the kids approached Big Balls and when the cops get there? We are missing a lot of information.

I certainly don't feel encouraged to know Jeanine Pirro of all people is in charge of this. What a fiasco. I really dislike pretty much everyone involved here.

The only crime stat should be basing your opinions about a city’s safety on is the murder rate. Based on murder rates, DC is more dangerous than Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore. It’s much more dangerous than LA, NYC, and Boston.

The number of attackers is not known. Witnesses (Big Balls and his girlfriend) said ten, which is why it was in the police report. This has not been verified and is not in the official MPD press release on the incident. Only two attackers were arrested, two 15 yr olds (one male and one female, both from Hyattsville).

I’m not really sure what the solution is for these juvenile crimes. Are other big cities trying 15 year olds as adults for these things? I just don’t know. I agree some of these teens seem to act with impunity and are apparently sociopathic.

That is not true. The police report said officers observed approximately 10 attackers.
