Really? We live two blocks away and I honestly didn’t know that. It was always the 1400 block of R, not the 1400 block of Swann. The attempted carjacking occurred about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Swann Street Northwest, a residential, tree-lined area. According to D.C. police, the teens approached Coristine and one other person, who were “standing next to their vehicle,” then “demanded the vehicle and assaulted one of the victims.”

Doesn’t sound like they were walking home — they were either walking to or standing around the vehicle that they were going to drive home after a night out at the bar. I’m sure they weren’t drinking though. Most people on 14th Street at 3 am on a Saturday night aren’t . . .

It doesn't appear big balls and the woman were strangers and it doesn't seem like she was injured. In the mpd press release about the arrest of two juveniles for unarmed attempted carjacking, it says

"On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the suspects approached the victims, who were standing next to their vehicle, in the 1400 block of Swann Street, Northwest. The suspects demanded the victim’s vehicle and then assaulted one of the victims."

Curious to see how this case turns out. Also hopefully mpd and the US atty's office will work better together with pirro in charge. I don't like her, but I want her to succeed in bringing cases that hold up in court and put dangerous people behind bars.

The press release went on to say "One of the victims was treated on scene by DC Fire and EMS for injuries sustained in the assault". Presumably that was big balls not the woman, and they didn't call an ambulance. I don't wish for him to be badly hurt.

The suspects were 15 so not criminal masterminds, but I’m curious how on earth you carjack someone unarmed.

Go up to them and say give me your keys. Maybe have your hand in your pocket to make them afraid. or try to grab their keys. Or if their car is unlocked, just get in it and see if it is on or will turn on.

These stats are from the Biden admin, so who knows how they’ll be manipulated by MAGA. But I don’t think we need a convicted criminal running DC. We could use our tax money.
