This. And if a man there wants to climb a building and fall off, it’s not anyone’s fault but his own. Certainly it isn’t the fault of the people who go there to try to enforce our laws. We live in a civilized country and part of that is law enforcement. Otherwise we wouldn’t bother to have laws at all.

In a civilized country, law enforcement identifies itself.

Actually, he fell from a roof.

“this individual climbed up to the roof of a green house and fell 30 feet”

Sounds like he wasn't "killed" but that he died by falling off a roof while trying to evade ICE.
This is not ICE's fault at all. What was this man thinking?

Seems to me that ICE created a chaotic, uncontrolled situation, which DOES make it their fault.

Seems to me that this farm was hiring illegal aliens AND unaccompanied CHILDREN which is against the law.
Why are you so opposed to enforcing the law... especially when it comes to child labor laws?

Where did I say I was opposed to enforcing the law? I am opposed to enforcing the law in a lawless, uncontrolled, chaotic and destructive way, not opposed to enforcing the law.

Why are you opposed to having an honest conversation without spin, strawmen and deflections? Why are you opposed to accountability and expecting better from our law enforcement? DARVO, that's all you have?

How exactly are you proposing to enforce the law against a farm that illegally employed children without entering the farm?

Reports indicate 10 juveniles were arrested youngest of whom was 14 years old.

In California minimum working age for most jobs is 14, but not for agricultural work. Minors aged 12 and 13 can work in non-hazardous agricultural jobs outside of school hours with parental consent or on a farm also employing their parent(s). A 16 year old can work in any farm job including those considered hazardous. 14 is also the federal minimum work age except for agriculture work.

No law was broken. Yet ICE murder someone’s parent.

So ICE did not find any illegally employed children, would need a warrant with reasonable proof that children under 12 were being employed and would need California law enforcement because ICE does not have the authority to enforce local state laws.

Finally Department of Labor enforcements federal minimum work ages not ICE.

So what’s the next for ICE enforcing local laws- speeding, hairnet violations, fireworks, etc? ICE is a rogue agency breaking laws and the constitution at will.

Florida lawmakers push legislation to weaken child labor laws

This is from 2025 folks, and there is an entire thread about how Florida wants poor kids in fields.

“US citizen workers report only being released after they were forced to delete photos and videos of the raid from their phones,” the union said.”

Well, that’s certainly unconstitutional. Hopefully they missed a lot of footage.

This man was killed by ICE agents. Will they be held responsible for murdering this person? Will there even be an investigation?

Not only will there be no repercussions but Trump will give them the Presidential Metal.

How long is the statute of limitations for murder?

There is no Statute of limitations for murder.

I can understand fighting against ICE snatching people without criminal records off the streets in unmarked cars and masks. That’s anti-American and wrong. But this is a pot farm that has children, and not even older teens, laboring in terrible circumstances.

Why are you upset about this raid? These are the people who should be raided if our immigration laws are to have any meaning at all.

Many Republicans have repeatedly suggested that Medicaid recipients should be working on farms. 47.5% of Medicaid recipients are children. https://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid/program-information/medicaid-and-chip-enrollment-data/report-highlights

So it seems genuinely perplexing that you have such a huge problem with migrant children working on farms yet no problem whatsoever with disabled US born children working on farms.

Or do you actually not care about children working on farms, you are just concern-trolling and using this as a phony and disingenuous attack on Democrats?

If you ACTUALLY care about children you would't be supporting Republicans for their stance on Medicaid.

I’m not a Republican. And obviously I’m opposed to disabled children working on farms. I’m opposed to any child working on farms, except for children working on their own family farms in a limited capacity outside of school as I did as a child. But twelve-year-olds should not be picking cannabis on a farm regardless of political persuasion.

You can’t get out of what you are defending here. It’s not right. You are in the wrong here.

Yet the age of the youngest children was 14 and their parents were working on the farm. It is legal for 12 years to work on a farm. They were not working cutting pot. You are defending ICE raiding business to enforce laws that do not exist. Oh and ICE did not raid the farm to go after child labor law violations.

You and your parents should have been arrested the same way these people were. They were not breaking any law, they were not illegal and now someone has been murdered.

They also do not arrest children for legally working. ICE is arresting people for breaking non existing laws and the crazy RWNJs are defending them!!! Not that I believe ICE raised the farm because of underage workings. Wish we had a system where law enforcement had to get a warrant from a judge before breaking down doors.

How long before ICE using APCs to go through walls of private property to arrest people for criticizing Trump?

How can anyone defend the actions of ICE on this raid?

For years, Texas has been crying uncontrollably about “illegal aliens” so why is Trump/ICE so focused on California? Hmmm.

Seriously. Red states should be living by what they asked for and demanding ICE focus first and foremost on their own state's farms and industries. But instead they send them to target blue states while continuing to reap the benefit of cheap illegal labor themselves.

Not sure but the combination of Biden's let 'em all in policy followed up by Trump's kick 'em all out policy sure doesn't seem to be working very well. The idiotic American voters who elected those two elderly clowns must feel pretty stupid and embarrassed right now. Do better people!

I’m not a MAGA at all. I’m not even a republican.

Nobody believes you, nor the last several times you said it.

You claim you are not MAGA yet you are totally fine with everything ICE is doing.

That's not how it works, buddy. That doesn't let ICE off the hook.

It is when you play stupid games:

DHS said its agents were not responsible for the man's death, saying that "although he was not being pursued by law enforcement, this individual climbed up to the roof of a green house and fell 30 feet." Agents immediately called for a medical evacuation, DHS said.

He said, she said. There are no excuses for Trump and Biden's reckless immigration policies.
