Why are modern day billionaires narcissistic sociopaths?

Normal people like you and I have a number after which we'd either relax and enjoy our wealth or if we especially enjoy the way we build that wealth, keep working but put the excess wealth into making the world a better place.

For some of us, that number is pretty low. Maybe just enough to buy a little cottage in the woods somewhere so they can read books and sip tea while never having to worry about working again. There are a lot of people practicing FIRE for exactly that reason who are perfectly content to stop working after a million or two. For others it's higher, maybe 10 or 20 million so they can enjoy more luxuries and travel.

Once you start getting higher than that is where the normal people start dropping out. By the time you get to the hundreds of millions and billions you have weeded out all the normal people and are only left with people who are so broken that there is no number at which they will stop. It's a sickness, a pathological obsession.

This is why billionaires should not exist. Simply by amassing that level of wealth you have proven to society that you're not fit to have it, because if you were you would have given it away or stopped hoarding already.

Honestly, I couldn't care less. I live my life. They live theirs. I do not sit around all day being jealous like half of DCUM.

Live your life and stop worrying about others.

It's not about jealousy.

Imagine, you find yourself stranded on an island with a group of people. You have plenty of supplies to last everyone until you get rescued. Most people would share the supplies according to need.

How would you react if a couple of people decide they are entitled to hoard most of the supplies, forcing everyone to work and perform favors for them in order to get their basic needs met. The hoarders don't work, they don't help the group at all, other than ordering people around, and doling out resources according to their preferences, using violence to impose their will. You'd most likely call these people antisocial sociopaths.

This is what extreme wealth hoarders are doing to human society. We are all stuck on this planet together. There's plenty to go around. But a small percentage of people hoard the resources, and control society, while contributing very little actual value, imposing their control through different kinds of violence. For example, allowing citizens to become homeless or starve if they aren't able to work. Denying people needed medical care unless they sell their labor.

These people are antisocial, as in they are bad for society, and they are sociopathic in that they have the ability to end the suffering of others yet choose to hoard resources and live in extreme luxury instead, using the state to impose a monopoly on violence in order to protect private property.

It goes beyond jealousy. This planet and it's resources belong to us all. No individual should be allowed to monopolize what belongs to us all. No individual should have so much influence over society. No individual should live in extreme luxury while other go without basic necessities. It's wrong. And it saddens me that you can't see that. That you don't want to leave a better world for the next generations. That you are willing to look the other way as these people destroy the one planet we have because money and power have twisted their minds into something monstrous.

The world is a worse place because of billionaires and people like you who "stop worrying about others." You must be in an incredibly privileged place to be able to tune out the rest of the world who are less fortunate than you but I thank god every day I'm not a soulless husk like you.

DP. I have had terrible circumstances that I dont broadcast, but I dont care too much about the success of billionaires either. I care more about the struggles others have.

The struggles others have is because of billionaires, ie. Wealth and resources hoarding. Most societal problems would disappear if we as a human race committed ourselves to meeting the basic needs of every person on this planet. But we cannot do that if we continue to allow a small number of us to hoard more than they could ever use in a hundred lifetimes.

They want everyone out of their way snd would absolutely love to put all who protest their selfishness in prison or work camps as punishment for defying them. They’re probably hoping Trump will eventually support that.

I can’t express to you how disappointing they are. They aren’t intellectuals. They are singularly gifted. They are good are making money. That’s it.
Also, you’ve never met a group more aggrieved than the extremely rich.
Honestly every time I hear someone say, “ we need a good business man to run the country”, ( and that’s become common “wisdom” now) I realize we are in a truly hopeless place as a nation.

But it was OK for Joe Biden to bail out banks when they defaulted, huh? Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank and a third that I can't recall the name of. Or, was that one of his staffers and he didn't even know he bailed them out?

That's the law, he didn't have a choice not to bail them out.

Trump has lost billions while serving as America's President.

Omg. Do you believe this???? He’s enriched himself using the Oval Office beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. The MOST corrupt president by miles and miles.

You act like you have a right to other people's private property. You don't.

It's a global economy and money goes where it's treated well.

Ha. Where do you think they got their money? Elon would have nothing but his inheritance if not for government money. That money is OURS.

Trump made his money running one con after another and threatening people who tried to hold him accountable. The man is built on fraud.

Have some self-respect, man. Quit fawning over these frauds.

That money is NOT yours.

Literally YES. Those are our tax dollars he uses to run his business. He literally has your money now.

Except billionaires “living their life” involves them buying the US government, wrecking labor unions and suppressing wages, and destroying the environment. So their actions directly affect my quality of life.

And buying access to politicians who make laws that favor their businesses, their personal values, and give them contracts.

Money is power and power corrupts. These people who think it’s jealousy have never read a non-fiction book or taken a history class. We are no longer “by the people and for the people.” We are “by the ultra rich, for the ultra rich”. I don’t know how to break it down more simply than that. I have zero desire to own three yachts.

They didn't "earn" all that property without the hard work and sweat of other people. These people don't singularly generate all that wealth. They step all over the people that work for them to get there. F them. They owe society.

You are not owed anything.

huff puff blow my house in. SDASU. You add nothing.

Exactly. He has made more money as the Grifter In Chief than he ever did in his so-called "real" businesses. He is a horrible businessman. He is an excellent con man.

I would not care if they would just live their life. My problem is they don't. They either go to Washington and dismantle the government. Or they invest obscene amounts of money developing technologies that destroy society and the environment.

Look back at history. Carnegie, Mellon, rockerfeller, Morgan, Wells, Fargo, etc were all highly competitive; narcissistic self absorbed people.

It goes back through time. Edison’s General Electric lost Edison in the name because one tycoon backed him and one backed Tesla (Nikolai Tesla- where Musk took the name).

It has been that way for 200 years and going.

They have always been obnoxious + selfish OP. We just know more about the current day robber barons.
