Why are modern day billionaires narcissistic sociopaths?

Religious worship? You mean that place where all the rapers of children collect their prey?

Hey it's OKAY to rape children as long as you pray to the golden idol! - MAGAs, everywhere.

so you are saying that there is no reason to be good, and that even those who say people should be good are actually doing what every one should do: take what they can take and just acknowledge that there is only the law of the jungle.

Probably one of the biggest mistakes in the Biden Administration was bailing out Silicon Valley Bank.

SVB bet big on low interest rates and lost. Rich tech VCs who put too many eggs in that basket generated a bank run, then called for government money.

They got their bailout, helped elect Trump, and now reaping rewards from corruption.

This.

The level of wealth hoarding these people do requires they be sociopaths in the first place. They accumulate the wealth because they don't have a moral code to hold them back from the bad behaviors and exploitation it takes to acquire that level of wealth in the first place.

This. The wealthy donated money to reduce taxes and buy clout. They poured funding into institutions with their names on it. In return, they were able to reduce their taxes and get “credit”. There’s no motivation to donate when they can keep everything.

Don't buy from Amazon. It's that simple.

They just laid off a lot of people (engineering, software, retail), for starters, right before Christmas.

Amazon recorded $60 BILLION in profits. They then threw to the curb 30,000 employees in corporate jobs according to google.

There ought to be repercussion for that level of inhumanity towards your employees. If the public is going after Target for their stance on LGBQT issues, a fairly narrow percentage of the population, how about going after predatory corporations that drive mom and pop stores out of business while exploiting and abusing their employees?

The answer is that billionaires had less physical security protection back then.

You want me to participate in something that tells me women caused sin and should be submissive to their husbands? No thanks!

You think Amazon should employ them if they have no productive work for them?

What the hell is the matter with you? Is Amazon a jobs program?

I agree, but to some extent. We just don't want them to "play" at philanthropy, we just want them to pay their taxes so the people who are properly trained can do their thing.

Gates paying for and managing health research is a good example.

At the end of the day those philanthropic missions were just ways for the rich to give money to their cousins. "Here, here, is some money, why don't you start an art gallery."

I'll donate to your Church, so my kids can volunteer for a vacation in Africa doing "missionary work".

Not to ding on them too much, because it would be nice if we at least had some orchestras or something to show for it.

We need Warren's wealth tax and some additional brackets at the top. Along with changes to what corporations are able to give out as compensation.
