Tell her to give it time. Look into organizations that interest her including the black student union. Also, check to see if there is an African American focused organization in the neighborhood close to the school that may offer connection and support like a church or community center.

PP above. I had a great experience and am still in touch with many friends from those years- friends from all different backgrounds. It was broadening to be living and studying and socializing with others with different backgrounds and life experiences. |
