And let's be honest - 2 Palestinians have been killed AT LEAST every hour by Israelis since this story broke.

But we all know one Israeli life is about equal to 1,000 Palestinian lives.

Actually you can't. If you call israelis/zionists NAZIS, don't be surprised when people act on it. And there's no reason to believe that the shooter knew that the victims were specifically Israeli. This was an American Jewish Committee event attendeed mostly by American Jews in foreign policy roles. Btw, the the panel event for the evening was on multi-faith efforts to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza--which Hamas is also accountable for.

Oh, and the only people who actually thing one Israeli life is equal to about 1,000 Palestinian lives is Hamas--as that is approximately their going rate for hostage exchanges in this war.

Concurrently, if you behave like Nazis, don't be surprised when people call you Nazis.

Oh ok, you do want to see more dead Jews shot on America's streets. Carry on.

I didn't say anything remotely to the like. If you want to be taken seriously, make accurate statements and observations. There are a growing percentage of compassionate, educated, ethical Jews who see Israel for the genocidal ethno state that it is. We're ideologically fighting side by side against hatred and violence against the innocent.

Zionism and Israeli nationalism are absolutely sick, and they both co-opt the Jewish faith for their political agendas. The murderer who shot these two people has more in common with the IDF, than they do with Jewish persons of conscience.

This wasn't an Israeli Embassy event and there's no reason to believe the shooter knew the victims were Israeli. The shooter targeted an event that was specifically about multi-faith efforts to support humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. Why would he target the attendees there?

Here is the couple that was tragically killed. They were going to be engaged next week according to reports.

Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues. They were in the prime of their lives.

This evening, a terrorist shot and killed them as they exited an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in DC.

The entire embassy staff is heartbroken and devastated by their murder. No words can express the depth of our grief and horror at this devastating loss.

Our hearts are with their families, and the embassy will be by their side during this terrible time.

Here is the murderer, Elias Rodriguez.
He actually fits the description of a Nazi.

Right - and it's categorically wrong, as I said.

Tensions are high, but this is not some kind of red line. Anti-semitism is wrong. Zionism is wrong. Israeli nationalism is wrong. Killing random people is wrong, whether Jewish or Palestinian. As i said above, the shooter here looks like he has more in common with the IDF - targeting random innocents. He helps the Palestinian cause about the same as the IDF helps the Palestinian cause. I don't know why it's so hard for some to hold multiple layering ideas at the same time.

Well this is anonymous forum and I'm also not the one who said it was some kind of red line. Personally, I don't think he's parotting the IDF--an army force like any other that will have a few rotten apples-- so much as a violent marxist who hates Jews specifically and white people/capitalists more broadly. I think he is another Luigi Mangione and unfortuantely we're going to see a lot more of these types of hits against people from all walks of life. And regardles of how you feel about Israel's existence (I completely disagree w/ you but we're not going to has that out in any sane way on this thread), this is an American problem that we will have to reckon with.

Israel’s actions in Palestine have made Jewish people around the world less safe. Perhaps it’s time for people to direct their anger at the aggressors who have fomented this rage.

This was clearly a red line.

I can imagine that any Jewish people who are in the vicinity of these protestors who are shouting "Free Palestine!" will be feeling a bit more threatened after last night.

This.

The thing that people thinks help them (a nationalist Jewish state) is actually the thing that hurts them. Israel was never created to actually help the Jewish people - zionists have been selling a false prophet.

This sounds a little suspicious. I sincerely hope this is not just another example of a false flag type attack like the one where Israel bombed its own London Embassy and blamed innocent Palestinians for it.

A more likely explanation is that it’s just another maga gun humper.

Get rid of guns.

Turns out you couldn't be more wrong.
Aren't you proud of yourself?

Do you have an actual source for this? Or is it just twitter rumor? The New York Times and CNN don't say this.

Press conference:
Pamela Smith, Chief of Police for the Metropolitan Police Department: “The suspect chanted, ‘Free, Free Palestine’ while in custody. The suspect has been tentatively identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois.”

Wait - Rodriguez?

He is a BIPOC ??

I suppose similar comments were uttered in Nazi Germany to justify murder.
