I get that they are just trying to make people quit and this just annoys me.

OMG you mean no more PJ's and Crocs??

We already have a business casual dress code. Never jeans. I usually wear slacks and a blouse. But requiring suits is ridiculous

Especially because it’s summer.

DHS HQ is doing this. Suits required. Every day.

Why do they hate DHS so much? Seems like they're really getting the short end of the stick with the strict hours and now this strict dress code.

That would be on Reddit immediately.

That is insane - suit and tie? Get ready for a very smelly office while men rewear the same suit every single day.

This is completely reasonable. Add in "no clothing with curse words or promoting drug use or violence" and "no pajama pants" and that was the dress code at my private HS and my current law firm.

Just wear nice dress slacks, a blouse and a blazer. Not that difficult.

Just wear yoga dress pants and a stretchy blouse. Hang a suit jacket over your desk chair.

I do not own any of those articles of clothing. It would be a huge expense to buy that, especially if I had to buy enough to be in the office five days a week.

Of course I did, but my fed job was business casual. I had one suit for when I had a big meeting. Internal facing job 98% of the time.

I guess I'm one of those rare feds that has always worn a suit in the office every day except for Fridays at a couple of agencies (including my current one). It's the norm in my field and at my level. A suit isn't necessary for most jobs but looking professional and presentable is. A minimally-restrictive business casual dress code should hardly be something to lose sleep over.
