Fed employees: Dress code is next wave of annoyance

Anonymous
Saw the email today- dress code is coming for my agency. "Suit and tie for men, equivalent for women."

I get that they are just trying to make people quit and this just annoys me.

Which agency? Are you public facing?

Oh come now. People won't take you seriously if you start complaining about minor things.

Oh, FFS. This would be the straw for me ...

Is it minor to require people to buy a whole new dressy wardrobe while there are proposals to RIF, freeze salary, force increased contributions to pensions and cut the SS supplement? Really?
Where's the increase in pay?

The same people say this about telework and everything else. It's just a way of undermining you.

A friend at DHS got a dress code a week or two ago: no t-shirts, no revealing clothes, jeans must not have holes.

If we have such a dress code imposed I will be creative with it! In fact, it might be time to dust off my retired husband’s suit jackets, shirts and ties. Maybe I will splurge for a fedora to really make a statement. B

What agency?

If they impose this for DoD, I’ll be sure to accessorize with an American flag snot rag.

This honestly does not sounds like a lot to ask, especially if customer facing. It's a workplace for heaven's sake. Call me old fashioned, but since when is it OK to come with ripped jeans and T-shirts to the office?

No one was complaining here about that dress code.
