It’s been taken down. I saw it earlier today but no longer on their instagram page. So already making changes or was not ready for publication. Either way not a good look to start.

Oh stop, they probably received interest from additional clubs after seeing the leagues + how they're layed out + are adding them in + need to recreate.

Here in lies the problem. General admission. One of the teams they admitted yesterday was formed this year. Local teams promoting GA2 without a GA team should have a real problem with this (looking at you PPA, you are better than this)

They're 2nd teams! Why does it matter?

It seems that you have an axe to grind with GA. Let it go.

I don't. My kid is playing on one of the dmv teams. I have a problem with 2nd teams having to do multiple overnights and a fake saturation of the market not just in this region without some publishepromoted. 1) how clubs were selected. Are there minimums on coaching licensure, field access, trainers etc and 2) on how/if teams can be promoted.

You sound ridiculous and way over engaged.

I read your response three times and am still confused

What team was added yesterday? Do you mean added or announced?

Isn’t there a couple of good PPA teams but others not so much? Aren’t they losing players and coach from 2010s to McLean?

Please clarify

It's a shame they couldn't make this public before players have to decide about accepting offers from GA-Aspire clubs.

They had a long, involved application process and rejected a lot of DPL teams who wanted to get in. Who are these new clubs that all of a sudden want in? Its not RL clubs, most are tied to ECNL, and the conferences in RL are much more compact with less travel (All in NC; all in VA).

Some teams travel to Europe on parents dime.

You would be surprised on how many kids and families actually welcome the long travel aspect in this area. It's costly but an experience that they want.

We like the travel. We get to explore new states and cities, take side trips, hang out with the other families.

I think longer travel is good if you are doing it because you can’t find sufficient competition closer to home. Otherwise it just feels performative—“the club must be in a good league because you have to travel far for games,” etc. Life is busy enough.

Some make like it, but in general the further tier down within a club you drop and older the kids get, the desire to travel out of state/more than two hours drops dramatically.

Conferences are out on IG.

Mid-Atlantic North (MD, DC, and a few PA teams). Mid-Atlantic South (VA and a few NC). So they did not keep the DMV together.

Would be great if VA or MD would change their high school seasons to align then they could be in the same divisions.

This. With opposite school seasons the md/va line makes sense…But is also ridiculous give the geography.

Perfect. No point in playing the same 5 teams from u9-u19.

Northern NC is not that far either. If you want local games do local leagues. A 4 hour drive is completely reasonable for higher leagues games. And if they do it like GA has in the past your farther away games are basically played the same weekend for whatever clubs are far away from you and alternate yearly who travels for those far games. It used to be PA for NOVA now it'll be NC.

Yep, no complaints here. Just sharing info since there was some were curious about the divide. But will be interesting to see schedules given the team imbalance (# of teams) across conferences.
