TSJ can barely field a GA1 team

Mid-Atlantic North Conference:

PPA (Wash DC)
Potomac (Germantown)
Coppermine (Baltimore)
Baltimore Armour (Ellicott City, MD)
Baltimore Celtic (Baltimore)

Keystone FC (Mechanicsburg, PA)
Huntingdon Valley AA (Huntingdon Valley, PA)
LVU Rush (Lehigh Valley, PA)

The travel may end up being better (less than) EDP for the Maryland teams, who are all fairly close to one another. But there will be some long (3 hour +, in some cases) trips up to Pennsylvania to face those clubs. And if you play for one of those PA clubs I think you can expect to put quite a few miles on the minivan during the season.

Hopefully they can schedule some of the PA stuff back to back on a weekend.

So regional event when all these teams are out of season and playing high school ball. From a recruiting standpoint better off going to Jeff Cup than play in this event if you are going to play one out of season event in the middle of high school play.

Yes, why would they schedule something during HS soccer season? That's bizarre.

I completely agree with the timing being bad but not all states in the east coast have spring hs soccer. It hurts the VA teams for sure. Maybe there is another one in the Fall/Winter that VA teams can attend without conflict.

I will have a trapped 8th grader next year. Anyone know if GA Aspire will let them play down in the spring esp given the upcoming school year change.

I had high hopes for Aspire being comparable to RL but based on how these teams have been fielded, definitely not the case. Paying and traveling more for NCSL 2.0

No team can "let" this happen. It has to be allowed at the league level.

News flash- 1) everything north of the Potomac River (except Delaware) plays HS soccer in the fall. So tournaments that draw from a wider geography are going to hit in someone's HS season at some point. Ask the MD clubs how fun Bethesda Cup etc. is....2) Soccer is year-round. Your club should still be practicing 2-3X/week in the off season. Having tournaments then is a good idea so there is a goal to focus on and to keep skills sharp.

I can't imagine these teams used to playing local NCSL are going to be excited to travel to NC, VA Beach and Richmond for regular season games.
