They still have their application link open for 25/26 season. So I'm guessing they won't announce everyone until later.

This is their faq page https://girlsacademyleague.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Document-2.pdf

And VA may be with NC.

That's one thing RL got right. More conferences with tighter footprints at the RL level vs ECNL., i.e. conference that was VA only; NC only, etc. to limit travel at the second tier. Know people in NC in DPL (which was second tier) having to travel to Georgia and Alabama all the time for league games. If Aspire, due to lack of teams, has VA in a conference with NC or PA/DE, etc. then its going to lose the best players not in ECNL/GA to all the RL teams/clubs. Then the GA-Aspire parents will complain they can't move up and the GA teams keep taking players from RL.

MLSN2 created a Virginia only conference because of all the new additions. I expect the same for GA and Aspire.

Truth is nobody knows for sure because the new conferences with all the newly added teams hasn't been announced yet. In all likelihood most of the games will be in Virginia similar to RL. We already know these teams are all in GA/Aspire so at least all these games will be local: McLean, Loudoun, Revolution, SYC, St James, Alexandria. Throw Skyline (Charlottesville) in there too and that's probably your Aspire Virginia league.

Was also told by our “new to GA” club that the current MA region is being redefined and VA + NC will be “MA South” (not the official name, as far as I know).

Has anyone figured out who Black Diamond FC is was announced yesterday as GA2? There seems to be a black diamond soccer club in PA? Would that be someone MD teams would travel to play? I am assuming it is too far north?

Yes been documented several times the GA level conference will be NC and VA. Question was about the tier 2 GA-Aspire conference would should be geographically smaller than the GA conference to limit travel.

It's possible but if already driving to VA Beach, is there much of a difference in going to NC?

Even VA Beach is a long drive for what at least at the start of this new league is likely to be EDP-level play.

OK but EDP travels to VA Beach now so it's still the same for those participating clubs.
