Not sure of the trend but the Oakton High School involved a BMW too. |
We get it. You cannot afford to get your kid an expensive car. But the idea that buying a kid a BMW is the same thing as buying them a loaded gun is ridiculous. |
+1. The river road crash by the back entrance to the high school, where the driver T-boned a family at 115 mph The oakton VA crash last year where the pedestrian girls on the sidewalk were literally torn in half by the car. This crash Saturday night. Every one of them were BMW’s being driven by teenagers. It’s almost a meme at this point. |
No- its like a gun vs an AR. |
the crash on lee chapel in burke/ffx station was bmw also |
Oooooh, touched a nerve, did I? Yeah, I’m thinking you’re feeling a little self conscious right now because you bought Larlo a high performance car for his senior year, didn’t you? And let’s be honest - he probably takes after you your spouse, so you probably have cause to worry. Well, I hope your kid stays safe and doesn’t hurt anyone. Because if he does, they’re coming after you in court. Good luck. |
Here is the news article: https://www.arlingtonva.us/About-Arlington/Newsroom/Articles/2025/Police-Investigate-Fatal-Vehicle-Crash-near-Pentagon
It mentions the car brands. |
Interesting overreaction. I think you’ll find the data support the assumption that kids who drive fancy fast cars are more likely to be in a fatal accident. |
The car isn't the issue, its the drivers and road conditions. |
Sued? Nah, that’s just money. They need jail time. |
Maybe it was the parents car. But, either way, they could drive crazy in any car. |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that road. I drive it every single day. It’s perfectly safe at the posted speed limit. At twice that? Then it starts to become “dangerous”. |
Guns AND BMW’s, apparently. Neither belong in the hands of a 17 year old kid. |
My teen drives my BMW SUV. But he’s not an idiot and and drive carefully. It’s the driver not the car to blame. |
Why? They kill the same number of people annually. |
