Seriously, why aren’t women more afraid?

Unless your birth certificate matches your ID, you will not be able to vote. Did you take your husbands last name when you got married?

Are you MAGA

No? I just am unsure what we are supposed to do about what’s unfolding. Midterms aren’t until 2026.

If you think there will be elections at midterms...

Martial law will have Trump suspending voting. By the time there are lawsuits, it will be way too late. Get it?

Use the google machine or do a search in this forum for the Projext 2025 if Trump wins thread, it has all the links and hundreds of articles of analysis.

NP. I am afraid but I’m equally afraid of the Democrats so I genuinely don’t know what to do.

Why are you afraid of the Democrats? Do you think they’re going to force you to do recycling and composting? Sing Kumbayah in a multicultural circle? What are your concerns here?

Democrats have fully embraced a wildly misogynist belief system that explicitly privileges men. Gender ideology has seeped into everything the Democrats promote and it is shockingly misogynist. I don’t see how I can trust a political party that has reduced me to body parts and regressive, sexist stereotypes.

It’s as evil as the Republicans, just in a different way. And yes, it all terrifies me. If I am nothing but a collection of exploitable body parts to both parties, I worry in ten years I will have no rights at all.

These are dark times for women. Both parties have embraced misogyny.

wow, that is a unique take

They are taking away the right to vote in a roundabout and sneaky way. This law passed in the House.

Passports are sufficient. I think it’s the women in the small red times who will have a hard time.

Using Five Calls to call Congress can be helpful. When they get 20 calls on a topic, they start doing something. Republicans call FAR more often than Democrats, according to AOC.

I thought the name on the passport had to match the name on the birth certificate (if the law passes in the Senate)?

Project 2025 includes a “Plan for Women” that would strip women of basic rights: transferring financial assets from women to male guardians, ending workplace protections for women, introducing government monitoring of women’s financial transactions, and the phasing out of access to credit, loans, and property ownership for all unmarried women.

Shock, disbelief, picking the moment - all of the above?

I also think we have a ways to go before things like not driving or no bank accounts are a real thing. At this point I'd rather spend my time on figuring out how to get my daughters opportunities abroad.

Where are you getting that? Seriously. And I'm as anti-Trump as it gets.

Why are you bothering, OP? Some people want to live a life devoid of reality. Others are MAGA. We don’t need either to win the midterms (unless Elon buys all the votes, them we’re hosed—doh!)

I heard a right-wing nutter on the radio the other day say that we need to get rid of birth control so women have more babies and stay home where they belong. This guy heads something, a right-wing think tank or similar org. I am worried for our entire country, starting with immigrants and trans people, who have been scapegoated mercilessly. But everyone is in danger now. The fascists have taken control and they are not backing down.

Same. And I hate, hate, hate guns but I’m actually thinking about getting one.
