Seriously, why aren’t women more afraid?

White women are going to be affected by the SAFE act

White women always think they’ll be protected.

Damn straight they do.

NP. I am afraid but I’m equally afraid of the Democrats so I genuinely don’t know what to do.

I am past childbearing age and I didn't change my name when I got married so personally I am safe from the erosion of our reproductive rights and the attempt at voter supression but I have two daughters, a niece and the country is full of women and girls I will never stop fighting for. So, I'm calling my senators and rep regularly. I'm donating to ACLU and other orgs. I am not going to sit around until midterms. I am terrified for our country and our democracy. You know, all the stuff Kamala warned about. This hurts us ALL, blue or red.

ACLU is misogynist to the core these days. They won’t help protect you.

A lot of people are scared and upset. My high school chat group is incensed. The deportations and assault on the Constitution feel the most terrifying to me.

I admit I didn't think it would get this bad. I thought congress would stop Trump. I thought the Supreme Court cared about the Constitution!

I am very scared for my children and the country we are leaving them.

I will say that I am very fortunate to have a true partner in my husband and that helps. (But I am glad I never changed my name!)

Why are you afraid of the Democrats? Do you think they’re going to force you to do recycling and composting? Sing Kumbayah in a multicultural circle? What are your concerns here?

Serious people stopped reading when you said you are a female trumpet.

You asked why women are not speaking up. You asked why Republican women are not speaking up and I answered you. We don’t see him as a threat to our rights.

Hiw can you not see??? Have you bothered to read Project 2025 and do you realize they are following this like a playbook? What about when you can’t vote because you have a married name don’t have a passport?

This hysteria and breathlessness “I’m literally shaking” is why no one takes democrats seriously anymore.

I've looked at what's available on P25 on the web and it's vague. Where is there a full copy that outlines everything they're going to do?

I'm very worried and shocked how stupid people be to vote this in, stressed 24/7 might have to flee.

Democrats have fully embraced a wildly misogynist belief system that explicitly privileges men. Gender ideology has seeped into everything the Democrats promote and it is shockingly misogynist. I don’t see how I can trust a political party that has reduced me to body parts and regressive, sexist stereotypes.

It’s as evil as the Republicans, just in a different way. And yes, it all terrifies me. If I am nothing but a collection of exploitable body parts to both parties, I worry in ten years I will have no rights at all.

These are dark times for women. Both parties have embraced misogyny.

Can you walk through why you feel this way about Dems and what you think the outcome might be long term?

I’m genuinely asking here - I feel like a lot (not all) of the trans rights pushing (particularly allowing play in women’s sports) is misogynistic, but I don’t see it expressed anywhere.

I’m leaving the country and joyfully letting the door whack me on the way out. We’re dual citizens and I don’t want my daughters to come of age in the US.

Trumpists are pure evil. I hope they rot in a Salvadoran prison. I wish for deep poverty upon their houses. I pray for oozing pustules of disease on their rotten piggy faces.

Living in the US is not good for one’s well being.

They are already talking about deporting US citizens to El Salvador. Being a white republican woman is not going to save you from anything.

This. And I know a number of white Republican women who have been in prison or convicted of a felony. (I'm from the south).

White conservative women just voted to have all women's rights taken away.

Look up the just-out New Yorker article on private prisons starving women to death, and some men, even in holding cells before they are charged. This happened in the Biden admin, in states that hired them, so I can’t imagine more people dying because of outsourcing. Same with nursing homes, schools, and hospitals. White women should be very afraid, like Black women have been all along.

Women are more concerned about the rising cost of Lululemon yoga pants. This “trumps” everything.
