Waitlist Field

Not much talk on the board about it. Do we need to donate a library to be taken seriously?

I'm guessing you're on the waitlist because you're not full pay. They take ev who is full pay and has a pulse. They need the $$$!!!

Does your mom know you're still awake on a school night?

Any chance we'll hear next week while Field is on Spring Break? Or do these offers tend to come after break? Just trying to manage expectations...

Doubtful there will be anything going out during spring break.

Why so many waitlisted families? Has this school gotten competitive?

It does seem so the last few years. Adding 15,000 sq feet will accommodate more students.

Field was not originally on our list but our educational consultant suggested it since we were looking at Gds and Burke. It quickly became our number one – and even before we left the initial tour, our kid was like I want to go here. We honestly didn’t know too much about it before touring and were really impressed. I’m sure that is not everyone’s experience of course, but it was ours and we’re thrilled when our kid was accepted last year.

Why did you choose it over Burke? We’re accepted at Burke, but holding out for an acceptance here. By holding out I mean, we’ve paid the deposit, but if we get into Field we’ll forfeit and accept at Field. Loved Burke, but we’ve been in an ultra small school before and socially it works until it doesn’t. Way too easy for a child to be isolated. In a bigger school, we feel like our child would have a chance to migrate to different social groups and a falling out with one doesn’t mean a falling out with half the grade

Is Field bigger than Burke?

Has anyone heard from admissions if they think they'll goto WL? Or is the 9th grade class full?

Is Field bigger than Burke?

Field is about 70 kids in each high school grade and about 30 kids in each middle school grade. 370 total. I think Burke is a little smaller- closer to 320 total.
