Usually movement? Honestly this was our safety school at first but we actually turned out to like it more after touring and shadowing. Surprised to be waitlisted.
Not much talk on the board about it. Do we need to donate a library to be taken seriously? |
|
What grade? More likely for movement in 9th b/c the class size doubles. Some acceptances will surely decline.
Our kid is there and loves it. Great environment, engaged teachers and the new build out is going to be really nice. |
| Sorry forgot to mention. Applied for 9th. Responded yes to the « be put on the waitlist prompt » in Ravenna. Do we need to do anything else? Admissions team hasn’t been super responsive through the process |
They have a small admissions team due to the school size and they have been slammed! I would email them to reiterate your interest. In case you haven't seen it, here are some of the upcoming enhancements that we're all excited about: https://www.fieldschool.org/support-us/think-bold-be-inspired |
The facility upgrades look amazing. Do you happen to know when they will be: (1) kicked off; and (2) completed? |
| I would stay on the radar. If it’s your first choice and you would enroll if offered a spot, email and let them know. Good luck! |
Kicked off over the summer, not sure when they'll be complete. My DC will be accepting (99% sure, but wants to finish out accepted student events first) but we know some others that are declining. I imagine the waitlist will move a bit, but it's a small school so definitely let them know they're your first choice. |
The last two summers had awesome redesigns of existing buildings. The classrooms and science labs are amazing. More redesigns to come this summer, including athletics and dance facilities, with the new innovation and arts center completed in 18 months. |
Does the construction impact that student experience? How is it while classes are in session. The facility upgrades seem amazing. |
Between the administration, the architects and the construction company, there are a lot of professionals working to insulate the students from the construction. For example, major upgrades to existing buildings are done in the summers, so no impact. It’s also a pretty big campus, and the new building is going on vacant land. So school will not be interrupted and the impact should be minimal across three semesters. |
| We just turned down Field for another school that we think will be a better fit for our child, but were sorry to do so. I am very surprised people do not talk about the school more. It seems to fly under the radar and I am not sure why. The campus and facilities are beautiful and everyone we interacted with were so warm and friendly. It seems like a fantastic school. |
My DD is accepting a spot here for 9th. She applied on almost a lark because some friends of hers also applied, but it's approach to academics, facilities, and college results were very attractive to us. Her friends are accepting elsewhere but I'm also surprised Field doesn't get more discussion on this forum. |
| How is Field with financial aid? |
They definitely make an effort but have nearly no endowment, so they cannot be as generous as other schools. |
Does Field provide executive functioning support in middle school? |
