Snow day cooking/baking ideas?

I’m making vegetable soup. Hot cocoa was a stocking stuffer this year, so we will have that too.

Big veggie soup.
Broccoli cheddar soup.
Basically all the soups.

Big and fluffy cinnamon rolls and a decadent lasagna.

Thanks, DCUM! Now I’m gonna have to make cinnamon rolls. Anyone have a really good recipe for non-cream cheese icing ones?

That sounds perfect

NP and I use Swiss cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches.

Do you have an online recipe for that?

I use this focaccia recipe:

My teen DD and her friend ate half a pan themselves and I always get requests for it.

I’m planning to make this milk bread recipe:

Will likely knock back the sugar. That seems too sweet, although I like sweet breads.

Making a vegetarian German potato soup with sausage.

Just take any popular blog recipe (taste of Lizzy T, ambitious kitchen, Sally’s baking addiction, butternut bakery’s etc) and use a glaze instead of a frosting. Here is a glaze recipe for you:

I like traditions like this but brownies on snow days only would be too rare. I'd do something super special and rare like crepes suzette or tiramisu (chocolate/caramel because we don't like espresso)

NP. We don’t have a snow day tradition, but we’re making chocolate lava cake tomorrow because we felt like being extravagant.

I think I’m going to make shepherd’s pie-

Another good snow day recipe is crockpot French onion soup.

Pot roast, low and slow all day, with homemade bread and mashed potatoes.

Leftovers will become french toast for tomorrow's breakfast, and cottage pie for tomorrow's dinner.

Probably also going to make up some beans and greens w/ a hambone, just to keep the kitchen warm.

And I have puff pastry and brie that didn't get used for the holidays, so that will be for snacks, with some guava paste and nuts

I made meatballs yesterday - was going to make them tomorrow, but kid invited friend over for dinner, so I did that. We have so many leftovers from the last week that we will eat those first, and then I have some ground beef for chili and chicken breast for stir fry. We will finish the Christmas cookies, and if we run out I still have the other half of all the slice and bakes I made to rebake.

Beef stew and homemade bread for dinner.

Do you have a favorite swedish pancake recipe? Haven't had those since my youth!

It's my grandma's recipe, but this one looks similar.

I love the texture of cashews in chinese food the next day. Softer. So good. I bet the chili will be like that.
