UVA admits only.

Last year DMV private 4.5 GPA/1550 SAT, ok ECs, fair amount of rigor could have been slightly higher

My DD's friend is a first year. She had a 1500 SAT, good GPA and took most of the normal APs but no AP world language (a point of contention on this board.) Admitted RD (because she ED'd at Duke and was rejected.)

Asian male, CAS
In state, FCPS
GPA at graduation: 3.7 UW/ 4.2 W (it was higher at the time of admission, but a big case of senioritis)
11 APs including APES, Cal AB, Stats, but no other STEM APs, AP Lang and APUSH and APWorldHist
3 years of 1 foreign language, 2 of another, none AP of course
SAT: 1500
ECs: Meh, part-time job

I add the foreign language and APs because of previous threads discussing this topic.

You could make up literally anything (if you are even that poster) and you also never answered if the score was submitted and if the applicant was URM/FirstGen/hooked in any way. Very telling.

4 EA acceptances with GPA 97-98 (out of 100) and SAT scores of 1530-1570.
2 EA acceptances with GPA of 94-95 and TO
1 RD acceptance with GPA of 94 and 1550 SAT

Only 1 or 2 of these kids ended up going to UVA.

SAT mostly seems to be mid 1500s

This is why we need to get rid of TO. The reported scores are totally unrealistic of who is actually attending.

That's below the 25th percentike for UVA. URM? First generation or otherwise hooked?

actually, the SAT is way too low even for 25th perecentile.

75th percentile 1529 SAT/35 ACT/4.5 gpa
median. 1479 SAT/33/4.4
25th percentile 1410/30/4.2

what year is this for? per to or during to?
and the v/m breakdown?

It's from the admissions data of SCHEV. It is the reported stats of this year's entering class. 2024-2035. google schev statistics Admissions: First Time Freshman Progile B10

Crazy thing is that last year there were like 57k applications -- I heard that this year there have been 47k just for ED and EA! GAH!

Who said anything about lying? Something like 60% of scores are not being reported at all. Its not an accurate picture. It doesn't mean someone is "lying."

Yes, and you have NO IDEA how low it goes below the reported 25th number. I used to work in admissions.

They stopped with any URM preference last year because of the SC.

FYI, The 1280 pp is a troll, people. A 1280 would only get in if he/she were an amazing Olympic athlete or if the application came with a new building attached.

Oh honey. Do you actually believe that? Justice Roberts said race could be raised in other contexts in the application, like essays. The entire focus now has shifted from a box indicating race to essays in students put in the essays. Many universities and slacs have reacted to the decision
by encouraging short videos as well. Guess why?

How important are essays for UVA if you have the stats, ECs, and national awards ?
