Why did Kamala lose ?

People decided being able to afford gas and groceries and pay rent was more important than you being able to kill your unborn child and finding wars overseas when we have unchecked illegal alien migration

I mean that’s pretty much it.

They saw a federal government bully and try everything they could to lock a guy in jail for less than what most of Washington does on a daily basis, they decided they hated the media sycophants to lied tit hen for the better part of eight years. Russia hoaxes, telling the average citizen they economy was good when it wasn’t and of course covering for a buffoon for 3 and half years who couldn’t home and ice cream cone and tried to eat babies while his hospice nurse escorts him in a panda suit.

Who would have thought calling half the nation nazis and garbage wasn’t a good political strategy.

Trump called the whole country garbage and now he is correct

I’m very interested I. Seeing the ore detailed breakdown of data and analysis. I hope the D takes this as a need to shake things up rather than complain as they did when Hillary lost. Nothing wrong with Jen O’Malley personally and I’m she she is super complement so hopefully she lands a great job BUT clearly she does not have the pulse on what is important to Americans. If Dems want to win again they need to have better messaging.

I wonder if her push to be centrist and campaign with people like Cheney led to less turnout from the left.

I wonder if her being too careful in what she released as policy positions hurt her.

I wonder if the endless support for foreign wars turned people off (yes, excit polls showers foreign policy last on the list of what voters where turning out for BUT I think that is poorly phrased and they should have asked about “sending $ to Ukraine and Israel”

I hope there is a good and deep dive into what happened.

Personally I’m sad. I think she would have been a great President

Well, at least maybe we will be able to get rid of Clarence Thomas on the SC. Yes, to be replaced by a younger judge but that man never should have been appointed (thanks Joe Biden!) and is so corrupt and one can’t impage a replacement with a worse voting record.

Biggest reason overall: inflation.

People are so angry groceries cost $200 per week when they cost $85 in 2019. Harris is part of same administration it occured under.

2nd biggest reason: mass illegal immigration

I just cannot understand why Democrats are so stubborn about changing their policy towards illegal immigration and asylum loopholes. Their current platform of open borders is insane. Nobody wants millions of people here from foreign countries with criminal backgrounds that can't be verified. They're overwhelming schools and affordable housing. Blue cities give migrants millions of dollars in free housing while our own citizens are homeless or struggle with housing. It is wrong. No one is saying migrants are all bad people, but you cannot take in millions of people from all over the world with zero control.

And a woman of color, too. Even Haley never had a real shot

Biden, Obama and Bill Clinton were all battle tested in challenging primaries. They all also had experience winning surprising statewide elections at very young ages.

There is an un-likeability factor about her that is unrelated to her race or gender. This results in a strange outcome where the more people are exposed to her the less they like her.

The reason we know that it’s unrelated to her race and gender is because of 2019 Dem primary polling in her home state of CA followed the same trajectory as the Presidential election this year. Started strong and then faded.

In July 2019 she was in 1st place in California. By October 2019 she was in a very distant 4th polling in single digits behind Warren, Biden and Sanders. So her own homestate Democratic voters who had voted for her already preferred other candidates to her, including 2 out of state Senators with the leading candidate a woman (Warren).

The problem is just Harris.

No, it’s because America is racist, sexist, homophonic, anti-trans, nazi, facial, garbage nation silly.

Were you one of the posters promising to emigrate if Trump won?

Trump’s plan was to win and it worked out.

Because most voters are worried about immigration.

And most voters are sick of fringe liberal issues and wokeism.

In fact, most voters are so sick of these things that they handed Trump—a man who has proven time and again that he is not only unqualified but legit dangerous.

Moreover, Trump has a red congress.

TikTok played a role here. And the media. But I mostly blame my Democratic Party for continuing to misjudge what voters want. Biden should have picked a stronger running mate way back when. His administration should have better contained the border (Trump did and he will do it again…whether legally or not). And Dems should have better navigated fringe issues with talking points emphasizing that everyone will be treated with dignity but we won’t prioritize or put fringe issues on a pedestal and make everyone give them special attention.

Lastly, we must admit that we need to groom young, charismatic white or nondescript men for leadership in the Democratic Party now. We should have done this decades ago instead of being left with Hilary and Biden in the first place.

In short: stop pandering to the fringe and realize how and why Trump one both the popular vote and the electoral college. Look at the states that went red and recognize just how much of the country that represents. Recognize that new citizens and first and second generation citizens voted for Trump.

I’m appalled but not surprised. Sigh.

Now that we live a fascist dictatorship I’m sure there’s lots of people in the DMV area that want to leave the country. I’m willing to offer moving services for a cheap price and if booked will give a free ride to the airport.

Let me know…

+1. Should have never announced he was running again so others could have stepped up.

The Ragin’ Cajun is always right.

1. It’s the economy, stupid
2. She had to be up by three points in each of the races. She wasn’t.

All the rest is window dressing. You don’t SHE answers a question straight? She’s not “likable”? She plays the race card? Have you seen her opponent? This would all not be an issue if food and housing prices were lower. It’s not due to a Democratic President that those things are the way they are.

The focus on “open borders” and “DEI” were also highly emphasized by outlets funded by foreign information efforts. They got people already feeling poor spun up on distracting issues. They got us pointing the finger at America’s problems at “others” who “took away our” something. Guns, jobs, safety, what have you. Don’t look at the big corporations record profits while they’re shifting jobs overseas and costs on you.

But at the end of the day, listen to Carville.

Because democrats don’t lie like Trump. Dems would also not address all the lies about the border and lies about trans people.

The trans topic was really perfect because the GoP could demonize them because few people know anyone who is trans. People don’t know anything about the medical process. It is just perfect for lies!

Democrats have lost the working class voter. First the white working class and now the latino and black working class is falling to tje right wing. This has been going on for a long time now so the work to repair this will be difficult. Democrats need to prioritize economic issues over identity politics. I hope that the leadership can grasp this.

This was on Morning Joe.

Yes. This. I am disappointed to see this thread devolving into personal attacks against Harris. I sincerely hope that Democrats looks carefully at the issues and positioning. I think this is what she failed.
