GA will add DPL teams worth joining.
ECNL will promote ECRL clubs

Don't forget the bottomfeeder clubs ECNL will force to merge with a more successful club.

Like VDA and NVA.

They are different and should be treated that way.

Maybe I am wrong, but I just don't get WHY this is criteria.

MLSN and GA don't care if clubs also have ECNL.

ECNL won't let any of their teams be 2nd to MLSN or GA.

Multiple clubs have tried to have MLSN as their 1st team and ECNL has their second team. When this happens ECNL threatens to take or does take girls ECNL away.

Not to Bethesda.

How does Bethesda get away with it?

Legacy.

Remember this is a “boys club” no different than finance bros, less money but plenty of golf still

They get placed into champions cup, they're always in finals, and they do well in showcases.

College coaches and recruiters go to GA events. This gives high levels of visability.

One thing I would expect to see more of is top GA clubs pushing for 2nd GA teams. If your club is top of GA there's 2 basic options. Change to ECNL which depending on the geographic might bring higher level competition. Or, ask GA for a second GA team which brings in more $$$ for the club without any risk. Most clubs would choose to field a 2nd GA team before switching leagues and potentially losing players.

Agree with this. GA absolutley gives the world to their top programs. No real reason to leave. Just tougher comp.

Nationals were also given the world, but they ended up choosing playing better competition.

It will be interesting to see if there is any shift in volume/quality of recruiters at showcases. Top end players will not develop as much playing against players they are always better than, that's just reality so for the top end it does create a development problem. But you can be a huge fish in a small pond, so is that the counter for staying GA? Look very good, vs maybe look above average, perhaps? Just spitballing.

What would you say would be "the world" (genuinely curious)?

The GA very rarely seemed to feature Nationals (only using as they were mentioned as having been given the world), they tended to only be in posts when they won, which was obviously a lot. Posts seemed to revolve around lots of other clubs (no issue there), just not sure what the world means.

just making stuff up now? there is no development problem because there is very little player development is games.

Then why do you think four Champions Cup GA teams left for ECNL last year?

When are new teams announced? I've heard a rumor of a maryland team moving to GA

Why? It's already saturated. It's not happening.

Is there going to be a new club in VA getting ECNL?

Doubt it, they just had a merge .

I guess the question should be what is considered a successful merge? I'm seeing mixed reviews. what club is on the bubble that maybe should've have ECNL anymore

There are no local GA teams that are any good. This is almost true for ECNL also. They are still struggling to compete on a National platform. VDA has a few teams that might do well and Arlington's 2011 team is decent.

No local GA teams that are good? Care to elaborate?

Too say they aren't any good is a bit much. Clearly better than the local competition but struggle to be as competitive on the national level. Doesn't mean they aren't good, just not best in country. Best in region.

It's too soon to tell, considering that that the high school aged teams haven't played any teams from MD or PA but based off current results it's not looking good for VA GA teams.
