But it’s ok for a Catholic to vote for the candidate that does not want any restrictions on abortion? Gotcha. |
| Saint Rita Church regularly prays for him. They put it in the church bulletin. |
Yes you moron. I am Catholic and go to church every Sunday. I am obviously voting for Harris. I would not get an abortion unless I had to, but that doesn’t mean I should vote to remove that option for other women, Catholic or not. |
|
Another reason I’m no longer Catholic. Pedophile-excusing, MAGA-loving, women-hating organization.
|
Abortion is a Catholic sin whether it is legal or not. The secular government is not the Church. Meanwhile, Donald Trump personally parades his anti-Catholic-values behavior every day. |
You can keep on denying you are one of those christian nationalists, but we all know you really a christian nationalist. |

NP. Harris/Walz do not support “no restrictions” on abortion. But anyway: to answer your question? YES. Why? Because when you are in the voting booth and are casting a vote that will shape policies for ALL Americans, your Catholicism has nothing to do with that. Your PERSONAL choices are your personal choices: good for you. But those choices should not have anything to do with what is best and right as far as what choices are available to your atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Wiccan, etc., NEIGHBORS. And if any Catholic or Christian doctrine does make it into the booth, it should simply be: do unto others as you would have done unto you. What you would want “done unto you” does not include having your hands and your doctor’s hands tied by laws when it comes to what is right and best for your body. Nothing was more humbling than for my extremely Catholic cousin to, unfortunately, have to undergo a D&C for her WANTED, PLANNED third baby, but the pregnancy was not viable and not getting an emergency D&C would have killed her. She now votes Democrat and actively works to expand abortion rights in Tennessee. After all, she believes GOD SPARED HER WITH MEDICAL CARE some years ago, and she no longer would have the same care today. |

| Trump isn't catholic. Weird. |
A little weird for you to post this in an area with multiple Cathedrals which specifically stating which. |
Apparently it's bigoted to point out proven facts about the Church |
First, that isn't a tree statement of any candidate's position, so false premise. Second, hypothetically, yes, nothing in Catholicism requires someone to be a one issue political voter. If you think you are choosing between two evils, it is quite clear, Trump is the greater evil. Third, if you are honest about the pro choice political positions, and none of my pro life friends are, you would know it does not violate your Catholic faith to vote for someone who believes that we cannot dictate other people's faith. You should have no problem casting a vote for Biden or for Harris, as many nuns and priests I know have done. |
They should lose their non-profit/religious exemption. |
I am PP, I don’t give a crap about what anyone else believes. I don’t take my religion too seriously, nor wear it on my sleeve. I couldn’t be more pro life because that’s what Jesus was. Abortion existed when Jesus was around, do you ever read about him punishing those in the Bible? Did he punish gays in the New Testament? Strict dogmatic Catholics are nuts. I am a Catholic but am smart enough to know there are terrible people in Catholicism - including many many priests and leaders. |
