From the wording, it sounds as if someone bought a Mass card for in Trump’s names. This usually happens after people die but I have heard masses offered for people who were ill or in the military

This. But agree with PP, it was in bad taste and should have been for both candidates.
I am a moderate R, but admittedly a swing voter the past few years. I would have to complain if this was our church.

I am fearful other parishes will follow - and for either candidate. One thing I like about our Catholic community is there generally split 50-50 in terms of political affiliation.

I live in NYC and for his entire presidency, someone in an upper east side (Manhattan) parish had a mass offered for Trump every Sunday.

It doesn't mean the parish endorses a candidate, only that one person asked to have a mass said for him and paid the requested offering.
