If they are going to promote one candidate over the other, they need to pay taxes.
+1 Tax those criminals.
To be clear: what was read was a prayer offered by a single parishioner (whom we all hope was praying for Trump to wise up and step down). Other prayers of other parishioners would also have been read at the same time. It is quite clear that a person who adheres to the Catholic faith could not in good conscience vote for Trump. Some will anyway, but most will not.
But it’s ok for a Catholic to vote for the candidate that does not want any restrictions on abortion? Gotcha.
NP. Harris/Walz do not support “no restrictions” on abortion. But anyway: to answer your question? YES. Why? Because when you are in the voting booth and are casting a vote that will shape policies for ALL Americans, your Catholicism has nothing to do with that. Your PERSONAL choices are your personal choices: good for you. But those choices should not have anything to do with what is best and right as far as what choices are available to your atheist, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Wiccan, etc., NEIGHBORS. And if any Catholic or Christian doctrine does make it into the booth, it should simply be: do unto others as you would have done unto you. What you would want “done unto you” does not include having your hands and your doctor’s hands tied by laws when it comes to what is right and best for your body. Nothing was more humbling than for my extremely Catholic cousin to, unfortunately, have to undergo a D&C for her WANTED, PLANNED third baby, but the pregnancy was not viable and not getting an emergency D&C would have killed her. She now votes Democrat and actively works to expand abortion rights in Tennessee. After all, she believes GOD SPARED HER WITH MEDICAL CARE some years ago, and she no longer would have the same care today.
