Maybe, but she might have an NIL deal as well. |
GA comparison is not really a comparison anymore. Union and NVA currently have so many D1 commits off their 07 teams there are too many to count. Both have at least a dozen each. |
100%^^^^ They have nearly the same number of girls in each too. It’s not because GA as a platform isn’t good for soccer development. It’s that ECNL has a platform that makes it easier for college coaches to see the girls, AND post DA debacle, ECNL pulled in better talent and has been living off the combination of the two ever since. |
When it comes to events and league GA and ECNL are nearly identical. |
Well that is an indictment of GA isn’t it? They do have similar calendars and showcases, but mot similar PR and outreach. One example of why ECNL makes it easier for colleges. |
| Nothing to add, just wanted to say what a great post this is! Thanks OP! |
You are welcome! Just wanted to spread the little knowledge that I have. Hopefully it helps someone |
| When did you daughter get on an ecnl team? Which grade or what age? Thanks for the great post. |
Outreach and PR are also pretty much the same between ECNL and GA. Top clubs in both leagues + the connections they have into colleges is what makes things a little different. There's more top clubs in ECNL and these clubs have long standing connections into colleges. Top GA clubs have the same type of connections. This is why people are saying that just playing in ECNL or GA is not a free ticket to playing D1 in college. |
Excellent post. Congrats and thanks for sharing. |
| Congratulations. I admit I'm jealous, my DD's soccer career and recruiting ability in HS was really impacted by Covid. She was one of Clyde's girls for a while and was hoping for a D3 spot. She's still playing club though, soccer is a great sport at all levels. |
| How did you and your daughter make the decision about not playing high school? Seems like a lot of ECNL girls do play high school. |
|
NIL deals likely do not apply to women's soccer.
Kudos to DD, or should we say kudos to Mom? my question is, do you plan to attend all games whether home or away? |
| Just to be clear, your daughter committed to a D1 school and she is starting her Junior Year of High School today? |
| Also, some of the ECNL rosters have in excess of 25 kids on them. If your goal is to play in college, I thought playing time mattered more than just being on a team. How can the Coach see you play at a showcase event if you are the 2nd or 3rd string on your team? I've been told by coaches, it is important to have significant playing time over just being on a team. Or did just being on an ECNL team seem to open the 'doors of interest' for your daughter? |
