That could be a factor as well but I dont think so. I think its a combination of all the craziness going on now. There are some very talented 2008 players in the area.

My DD (2025) is committed to ACC D1. USYNT was massive deal for coaches when we were talking and one school (which no girl on my DD's team went to), Florida, straight up told a parent that "she's not USYNT pool, so max is 50% scholarship". While I understand 50% is glorious, the fact that a school like Florida, who aren't tip top of women's soccer, has those requirements was baffling to all of us. Coaches do care some because the awards, accolades (even High School), and USYNT pools mean other coaches have practically verified your ability to play. We saw coaches at showcases and ECNL playoffs, but maybe one or two halves..? So other things you can add to your 'resume' will greatly build on their own interest in the girl.

Florida State has one of the top womens soccer programs in the country. They are the tip of the soccer spear.

It's the 28 member rule, no question. Your anecdotal understanding of every team is quite silly. VDA for example has a starting USYNT 2026 grad, so there are standouts, just not committed. When teams used to get 9-11 per year and are hamstrung to about 7 per year to be even, yes, it's the 28 team roster limit. But, you are the guru, so I dunno...

Very very common! Likely more common than the alternative. Billboard sponsor parents also get a nice bump from the clubs toward accolades and exposure.

Ummm. not the brag you think it is. Maybe 5 years ago. UVA didn't make the NCAA tourney last year and they are even more awful this year. They get a higher ranking early in the season by playing very low ranked teams. Then get blown out of the water once Conference play starts.

So it's up to the coaches and schedulers to get it right.

Point was the girls are committing and OP was acting as if girls are getting snatched up. UVA is a top school, period. Education and soccer... which eaach school goes through rebuilding. UCLA has injuries galore, but I'm not going to say their program is trash now even though they're outside Top 25. Going to UVA from this area is a major flex. Good for her and another W for VDA recruitment, which is best in area for girls by a billion miles.

Not talking about the educational program but soccer... how many "rebuilding" years does a school need? Especially one that brags about getting all the "top recruits" Their classes are listed as "top recruiting class" most years. That's not rebuilding. That's just "the team". They have not done well at all since covid and their program is not getting into the rankings or the tourney.
