Yes ECNL is still a thing - the top girls platform in the country. Sorry if you can't understand this. |
It depends on the age and conference, not all ages have the same number of playoff showcases. MA Cup winner gets a bid starting at high school ages. Everything else breaks down the same if the winner finishes in the top 4 of the MA. If they don't finish top 4, then only the top 3 regular season winners get a bid, and the last playoff bid goes to the cup winner. American cup, showcase A/B teams continue after that. |
1) Age group determines how many teams go. 1-4 CL, 5-6 NA, 7-8 Showcase for u16&u17. 2) If a team who is not ranked in top 4 CL but wins out MA Cup then that teams gets spot 4 for CL which then could impact spots 5-8. |
1-8 headed to SD. it's most likely the top four would already be in CL? I had heard the winner of CL gets a different seed than 1-4 league teams. Then the next 4 teams also qualify - like #5 then gets a CL spot, then trickles down. Showcase B is for #9 - if the Cup winner isn't in 1-4. But from what you said, my info is incorrect. the whole thing confusing and stupid. Any official link to rules out there? Thanks for your help |
I meant the winner of the Cup gets a different seed.... |
| There is no created #9 spot. If somehow the MA cup winner is a bottom of the table team (9-12) who wins it all, then they’d get spot 4 in CL play. That would then bump everyone else down 5-8 and the original 8 would now be 9 and out of post season. If MA cup winner is original 5-8 then that would reconfigure the other cups. |
WTF Who wants to spend $5K more to travel to SD? BS all you do is sponsoring the one single player who gets to go to his dream school. |
thank you for answer. you have better info than me. It's a horrible amount of money. Deciding on what "cup or showcase" my DC's team will be. Not excited at all for this as a #7 maybe #8 or possible #9 spot with two league games ahead. Would rather save my money to go on vacation than go as #9 or #8 |
Then why is your daughter playing ECNL soccer? If you don't deem this activity helps her in some way to become a better adult, then yes, you're wasting your money. Better to spend it somewhere else. My daughter is looking forward to playoffs in SD next summer. I'm happy that's she's excited and the value of that is priceless. |
